Seats... what do you think?

Was talking with 3G and both of us may be ordering a set of Recaro in the coming months and try and ot he install/mod... which would you put in a MK3 Jetta?


I like the GTI 20th seats but they say GTI on them... the red ones are nice but I should have gotten the red shift boot then! O well... where is my $400 cheque!

well those are mk4 seats and they won't fit your mk3 unless you plan on doing some hardcore moddage.. aftermarket recaros or sparcos would be a better bet

Personally I would get a set of recaro trophy's or GTI 16V recaros and have them reupolstered. Much nicer seats than 20th AE or GLI recaros. Probably less expensive as well!

the seats are selling for $800 shipped so when you put them up next to a new set of sparcos seems like a better... just need to find out how much modding it will take I guess.

LOTS of modding the mk3 bases are 100x different than the mk4 bases.. way way way different..

From someone that looked into mk4 seats for mine I'll say, they are different. I'm sure it can be done (anything can be done with the right shop and enough money) but will likely require cutting the mk3 bases out and putting all the MK4 hardware in.

I agree with Derek, the coolest way to go is tropy or GTX seats, they look cool and are cheaper (but getting harder to find). They'll fit in with only a slight bit of modding too. OOOOrrr for the ultimate cool factor find some 4 door GTI euro spec seats or something as they'll go straight in and they'll be rare.

the TT's to my knowledge even tho based on the Mk4 platform the seats are totally different and have a similair setup to mk3 style bases..

ryan s. on cvd has put B5 a4 sport seats in his mk3 jetta and the bases were exactly the same all he had to do was have the slider rails cutting torched off and moved in like 1/2" inward on each one and they slid right in so i'm guessing the TT is similair

those corbeaus are nice too tho.. you can get the TRS in leather i beleive which is pretty nice

the TRS do come in leather, but my bank account does not support leather... I really just need to give up the text books! I spend $650 on books this semester!
