    Re: New city budget...

My Buick LeSabre is totally blacked out. That's how my dad bought it, used. Never had any problems about it tho. Maybe the cops think I'm an old fogie driving a buick
I'd like to make a statment!

I have to agree with Blair, if tickets are going to be on the rise, sadly traffic tickets often seems to be delivered with bias. Some is age discrimination but also based on what your car looks like and I have even heard allegations of racial discrimination in terms of traffic ticketing in Calgary. That is sad.

With fairness its impossible for photo-radar to be selective...other than by speed. At issue is whether or not we've enough photo radar already - since we know that's how the revenues will be generated.

I think photo-radar is a cop-out (haha) for proper police work.

Photo radar is a tax on getting there sooner. Proper policing would actually slow people down.

Back to the bumper and noise comments... I live on 11th Avenue. It's loud as heck with trucks and bikes. Cars are hardly offenders for noise.

Those bumpers do scare the crap out of me too.

My james bond drop plate plans are getting dusted off as we speak. Stationary speed cameras piss me off the most, especially since all the pro-camera people believed them when they said it would never be used for speeding, just red lights.

Yeah, they want to put speed cameras in unused red light mounts.....thats bogus.....I'm not happy about it, the cops aren't happy either so thats a good thing....

                  Re: New city budget...

Easy fix......Don't turn the money from the fines over to the city. The City expects the police to produce income when it is really a service. The fire department is not expected to generate income and they get to spend larges parts of their night shift asleep!!!!

I saw that in the paper this morning. I never imagined that anyone in authority would have the balls to say something like that. Definitely gets some respect from me for telling the city to go f*ck themselves.
