  • Need Help picking software.

Hey I was wondering what was the best software for merging pictures like what people are doing in Vwvortex with Photoshop. i.e. Enzodude ect.. I don't want to use Photoshop because I don't want to spend untill the new year figuring it out. I'm a simple man who needs a simple program that's ultra user friendly.

    Thanks in advance!

Paintshop Pro is good, but it can be just as complicated as PS

Creative Suite 2 - Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

Just learn photoshop as there is really no simpler way. Masking and cutting and blending take good technique and there's no shortcuts. Your only other options are Corel Draw 12 and Paint Shop Pro and they are just as complicated.

              Thanks Geoff.
I guess I'll bite it and learn the ways of the Photoshop force.

                Re: Need Help picking software.

There are tons of good tutorials online. For instance, "tooning" your car teaches masking, layers and a bunch of other stuff - and there's a lot of modding tutorials on how to paste wheels, lower cars, etc. You will probably never need to read a manual.

Yes unfortunately you cannot do all the cool things without the cool tools.

                      An alternative to photoshop is:

                      http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

However, its basically just the same product but a little harder to figure out

There are great photoshop tutorials available online. You can find them on Google...

Depnding on your needs there is also Photoshop element, and I have used Jasc Paint Shop Pro in the past and found it to be easy, although not as powerful as PS.

I think JASC got bought by Corel and PSP got rolled into a commercial Corel product, I am not sure there is a downloadable version anymore :(

In my opinion PSP also used to be simpler but over time they made it more and more like a photoshop clone (only not as good).

Photoshop is not that bad, especially if you can sit with someone who knows it and watch them for a while. The thing about photoshop is that there are so many ways to do any one thing... not always obvious what the easiest way is.

I agree, over time PSP has gotten too damn hard to use. I liked version 7 it was a nice balance with some decent features, but not impossible to use. The las version, I think 9, is overloaded & a pin to use.

                              Re: Need Help picking software.

Photoshop suffers from somebody with MAC terminiology writing an application for windows...nothing makes any sense to me...having said that I'm slowing on resistance and trying to learn(and hating every moment).

The GIMP's ok, but very hard to use as well...it is free though...I've tried it and it does work...although a bit tempramental yet.

I'm sure I'm going to take it for this...but Microsoft has built a hybrid (yes...hybrid...nice concept) graphic design/raster editor that's up for beta at...

                              http://www.microsoft.com/products/ex...ree_trial.aspx

From the limited amount I've used it its a bit simpler to use, and what the hell..you know who'll win eventually anyway...
