Weather network guesses it will start snowing november 7 with highs of -5ish (under thier 14 day trend)

when is everyone breaking out the winter beaters or snow tires?

I'll be rocking my baron again this winter but i'll be driving the jetta until it really starts snowing bad since i have all seasons on it right now..

      Re: Winter estimations.

My snow tires should be arriving today or tomorrow I think so I will probably get them mounted and put on mid next week.

I just watch the 5 day forcast, once it looks like a couple days of snow (or freezing rain) i'll throw them on a couple days ahead of time.

Those SO3's will thank me though All that understeer is not good for them. Need to get it sorted before I put the summers on again in the spring.

Winter tires are going on this weekend...hopefully it isn't snowing too bad on the ride home today, the F-1's just won't do

                  Re: Winter estimations.

Last year the roads were dry for a month after the first snow fall, I didn't put the winters on until Dec 1, I'm thinking this year will be about the same.

Had the dealer put winters on when I drove her off the lot 2 wks ago. Don't we usually have a foot of snow by halloween every year??

I remember as a kid, tromping through some deep snow every year, but for at least the last 5 years, there has not been snow till November sometime. I guess it could be the result of the whole global warming issue.

oh yea for sure the overall amount of snow has changed in the last 10 years. When i was a kid in central ab it would DUMP by halloween and i'd be snowmobiling until may.. now i'm lucky if there is enough snow by christmas to rip around when i go home.

My snow tires arrived yesterday and I have to give a big thumbs up to Tiretrends they were great to deal with. Probably get them mounted mid next week I am thinking and then I guess it will be time to see how this bad boy handles the snow!
