Finally bought a real radar detector

I always seem to drive my Jetta faster than my other car so I broke down and bought an Escort 8500 X50 after years of buying Bel, whistler etc. I read test after test and it was either the X50 or Valentine1. My friend has a V1 but it looks like an 8 track player stuck to the windshield so i got the X50! All i can say is what a difference between my other detectors. I guess you do get what ya pay for!!!

The V1 is a little on the big side, but that is why you hide it in the glove box, move the sensors to the front and rear of the car, and get the little tiny hidden display module to put anywhere you like......atleast that's what I did

X50 is a great detector you will love it. Just remember, an RD doesn't make you invinsible, it is only another driving tool. Happy speeding!
