That car used to belong to Jason I believe from Dasfuls. I think his user name was lostboyscout or something like that. There has been a hell of alot of $$$ poured into that car and for what the new owner is asking for it I think its a hell of a deal. Plus, I'd be interested in the euro front bumper if you do get the car

    I'd say go for it!!!
    Cheers

Holy hell, of all the cars to swap a 1.8T into, that probably wouldn't be many people's 1st choice. Mk1 yes, Mk2 yes, Mk3 Gti maybe, Vento no.

I am not sure about this car, of course everything depends on the price but... I wouldn't buy it myself. IMO the factory interior is nicer than this one's swapped Mk4 grey leather seat mish-mash... also not super keen on some of the exterior items such as the mirrors.

Finally, the engine is going to be speedy but probably not reliable, so take that into consideration.

Depends on what you are looking for.

I posted this a few months back (or maybe just talk to Jason about it) Killer car! You may want to check back on the history (dont quote me on this information) but I think the car has been sold 2-3 now and the car had some other "ISSUES"... but would be a great car to bring to Calgary.

I'm not a fan of the ghetto looking wiring harness action it has in there.

That's a pretty cool looking car and depending on price could be worth it. My only concern (if I was looking to buy a car) is how reliable it would be (as Kris said). If you're looking for a show car with lots of potential and have some fun with (would be very quick) It could totally be worth it. But I don't think you can do an engine swap without some degree of issues, even if it's done really well. That's not to slight who ever did this car, it's just a fact, so as a daily driver it might not be the best choice.

The car has been around on VWDOV for a while though so if there has been issues with it i'm sure searching around on there would turn up the good or the bad.

                Re: 96 Jetta Opinions

                Thx Jason
Ya i have done alot of searching through posts about the car and have talked to the previous owner and from what i can tell is that the engine has been good since the swap and just minor things that go wrong with any older car have needed work
It would be a daily driver but now that we found my g/f a cavilier this car would be just for me if i ended up with it and the price is good on it
The guy says he has a "potential" buyer coming today so if it dosnt sell by the time im in BC next week i might end up bringin it back

                ITs SOLD (not to me)
