alright thanks guys, and this stuff is approved by vw? like will a vw dealership put in gm syncronomesh like if i baught it and take it into a vw dealership? thanks sorry about the silly questions
Capacity is 2.1 liters, so I bought 3. But since it's not a full flush, he just dumped 2 in and I returned the other. Up to you. Northland did it, I think it was 30 bucks labour. A few of them mentioned that VW stuff is lifetime but I just said I've done a lot of research and it's a good thing. It's just oil with additives, however VW could probably void the warranty on the gearbox. But then again, any damage that could possibly be blamed on gearoil could be equally blamed on bad shifting anyway so who cares.
i took it to fifth ave and i just asked them to replace it with the VW stuff and they said theres no need for it, i explained to them that when i first started driving 5 speed about 2 months ago, and was trying to get it into first gear, that I would grind quite a few times. Because now that im comftrable driving 5 speed i dont feel comftrable driving around with flakes or shavings in my gear oil. They said it costs $450 to get it flushed out and new stuff put in, and since there is no need for it, your just wasting your money.
They are just being assholes and that's why I don't go to 5th Ave.
It's max 30 mins labor at NL and if it's "never supposed to be flushed" then why is there a drain plug and a filler cap?
5th Ave > Idiots.
Khyron
30 minutes by the time you write the work order and get a tech to drive it
in and out ($450.00) i want what ever there smoking.$21.00 for synthetic gear oil max and .30 labor easier than an oil change max $90.00..
