Nice install in a nice car

    http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=41919

I would love to do something like this in my car, but I think we have some major problems in calgary with the cold weather (and money for me )... IE HD freezing and issues with the screen (screen works until -5c). Wonder if anyone else has done research on this project?

The one solution that I came up with (the reverse of what the guys are doing in hot weather) is running a connection to my hot air in the car... IE: running a tube from my hot air vent all the way back to the computer case (you would need some way of monitoring the heat so you dont cook it, and a way to close of the tube when it was warm) Could be a fun project.

    Another really clean install:

There is a company who makes a double-DIN VW bracket and faceplate to mount a lilliput 7" display... all you need to do is buy the display and a computer and it installs as easy as a car stereo...

If only it where that easy... The guy who has the R32 is designing a faceplate that will hold a lilliput and a laptop dvd drive but he had issues with the metalshop. He also has a VERY hot wife who is a finalist for Sony's model search. If you check around there you will also see some very hot corrado installs.

I know that guy off mp3car but I am not talking about that, he has been at it for like a year and has produced earwax and a ball of lint.

There is an existing commercial product by an actual company supposedly. I should clarify it is a product for standard double-din openings not specifically for VW's. It mounts the lilliput with a nice bezel in an industry standard double din sized opening using the standardized mounting mechanisms etc.

She kind of scares me, especially in that pic. She is a little fake for my tastes and I sure would not put pictures like that of my wife on the web but hey whatever.

I really want to to that too, I think a laptop on a tray in the trunk with remote screens is a better idea.
