HELP... ! I need a new digital camera

My Canon G1 died... it seems to be the power unit... or a fuse. it's a common death for these and G2's

it'll cost about $200+ to fix :( unless you are an uber electronic wizard that can follow this http://hunterftp.hunter.com/~dav/index.htm

so... i need to know if there are any recommendations on where to buy here in calgary.

so far i know of the big box places... and www.thecamerastore.com

any other places i can check out?

it's my daughter's 1st b-day tomorrow... i need a camera!

Bestbuy has the canon A510 on sale for 250 if you're in a pinch. Great camera, and can get the 520 if you need more megapixels. 256M sd card is 50 and it uses 2 AAs.

London drugs also has a good digicam selection.

If you get a new one and want someone to take a look at that old one for you I am sure that myself or one of the other electronic savy guys on here would love to pull her apart if you had the parts

did you read the procedure on that DIY? 5 hours required!!

i wonder if i can sell it on ebay? the battery is worth more than the repair job.

If it is just the fuse I should be able to repair it for you no problem, I might even have the right fuse at work. If not sell it to me cheap as I really like the G1's

i'll be more then willing to offload it to you... buti have the box and a new battery at home... (t.o.) but first i am gonna drop it off at canon in ontario next month... i'll see what they say/do...
