I was just looking into a ticket a friend of mine was issued for having tint on the drivers/front passenger windows.
The fine amounts in the quick reference pdf provided by the government
( http://www.trans.gov.ab.ca/Content/d...plquickref.pdf )are 14% higher than the Alberta Regulation 233/89 Procedures Regulation
( http://www.qp.gov.ab.ca/documents/Re...sbn=0779713087 ), which specifies the fine amounts. The higher amount is what they charge you.
Does anyone know why this is? It seems to be applied to all the fines, but I can't find anything that says what it is for.
