Great guys. I have not been around much. Holidays and life in general, you know Any way, I had to take my Jetta to Northland because of my comfort seat recall and it has been eating tires. The week after I bought the car I noticed some wear on the front drivers side tire on the inside edge. I was told the car had a wheel alignment before I bought it, as the steering wheel was off kilter. So I rotated my tires. I have driven it for 3 months and I have gone to BC twice. Last trip back we hit a rain storm near Jumping Pound and the car was feeling kind of funny. I chocked it up the wet road. But I did an inspection when I got home any way. Driver side front tire had wore down to cords on the inside edge. I was like WTF! I called Northland and they said bring it in. They re did the wheel alignment and gave me 2 new tires. I did not have to whine, snivel, b*tch or fight for the tires. If they did not at least give me a discount was going to complain. But I got 2 new ones out of it. I am impressed Apparently the wheel alignment equipment is needing some service as they want me back next week to double check the alignment as they think something is wrong with the equipment. I think there is to because the Jetta does not feel quite right yet, as it finds ridges on the road and kind of goes where it wants right now. It is not a real comfortable feeling. It is really bad on the Deerfoot.

Re: Northland what a bunch of .....
nice.
Every time I say something nice about a dealership here in Ottawa, I find something super bad that they did at the same time. (Fix brakes, scuff trim. Replace hub, scratch paint. ....)1.8T
Not quite stock anymore...

Re: Northland what a bunch of .....
only good thing i can say about northland is they have a hot girl working their service recpetion, and that is it.
they overcharge on parts, 15% above what VW of Canada sets as the maximum pricing on parts, and their techs are incompetent monkeys. also what is the point of having service open until 6pm when your techs all leave at 4pm??Team Highschool

Re: Northland what a bunch of .....
if their techs weren't uninformed i wouldn't have spent 30 minutes trying to explain to them exactly where the problem was.
yes the VR6 engine bay is a little tight, but really its not that bad. i spoke with the guy at the desk and tried my luck with him, didn't have any so i spoke with one of the techs directly and still after 30 minutes i could not explain the problem area clearly enough for them.
this was a far cry from the dealership in vancouver i used to deal with where the guys there seemed to know everything about my engine and the common problems that came up with it.
maybe i got a bad tech or he was having an off day who knows, but it doesn't exactly build confidence in a mechanic when you know more about the engine than they doTeam Highschool

Re: Northland what a bunch of .....
south center wasn't a whole lot better either, i know its prolly not their fault as they probobly dont drive lowered cars, but it was really funny watching them spend 15 minutes standing around trying to figure out whether they could get my car into the shop and up the driveway. i ended up doing it for them. again i dont blame them fully cause its not somthing they deal with everyday, but it was pretty damn funny to watchTeam Highschool

Re: Northland what a bunch of .....
do you drive the green corrado? i totally forget the techs name and i think it was shawn or jason (any of those right) that works the service desk. they were both round the back of the garage and i saw my car go round and not come in. i stayed to make sure it got up alrite onto the lift as lowered VR's are a bit of a pain if you dont have a low enough profile lift.
they spent a little time staring at the driveway and my euro lip before i walked around back and did it for them. was actually kinda amusing.
i would rather me do it than a person that doesn't know how and drive my lip and bumper into the groundTeam Highschool
