Ola ladies and gentleman

hey,
new to the boards, not really new to cowtown. Here from Vancouver for school at UofC.
Have been a member of the dub community for a few years now and picked up my car last summer.

for lack of a better picture at the moment a pic that was photoshopped with a cat in it after some drama on one of the VWDOV Vancouver->Leavenworth Cruises


and some from cowtown





met a few NVD members on the cruise to sylvan lake a month or 2 ago, some nice cars.

I have to say that's one of my favorite colors indeed! You should also explain the cat chop - did someone on the cruise hit one?

ya someone hit a cat,
the someone was me. i went down on the VR cruise, basically ends up turning into a spirited drive, keeps the other group free of people wanting to drive like that.
anyways was going up to stevens pass on the way back trying to play catch up with about 4 cars close behind me. come up to the pass its a VERY long sweeping left hander at the crest. there is a large open parking lot on both sides of the double lane road, it was all empty. coming up i see somthing dart into the road, as i get closer it gets bigger and bigger. not a hell of a lot i could do when it went back into the road and met my front lip. shot out the back like a ragdoll cannonball bits and pieces everywhere. if i had tried to stop no doubt the 4 people behind me would have not been able to. as it was they were swerving to avoid what came out from under my car.

really sad but not much else that could be done given the circumstances. not a house around for 100 miles any direction either so we think it was a stray. somehow it lived long enough to not be on the road when we got out and went looking for it.

before someone jumps on me i do own a cat and i would be devastated if he was to wound up with this fate.

there was a lot left out of that thread due to legality reasons. hands down the most fun i have ever had in a car and on a cruise.
i am DEFINETLY doing it again next year. was worth the 3000km trip

i gotta admit i was laughing right after it happend and i realized everyone and the car was okay. i thought the damage was gonna be a lot worse.
i taped up my car before driving back to calgary with blue masking tape and the guys wrote CAT KILLER on the front end
