sorry, but the pentium M processor is like 30% faster than any P4 the same speed

MAYBE when its pliugged in, but they go into that battery saving ******** when they are mobile which robs the power

Toshiba notebook, Celeron 2.8, 1.5 GB RAM, 15.4" trubrite display (best display on a sub $2000 machine that i've seen). I'll never buy a Celeron again.

I'm not thrilled with the computer, but i only paid $1200. Toshiba customer service has been sub par with warranty concerns thus far. They wanted me to send my notebook to Mississauga because I was having AC jack problems . . . there are at least five authorized repair centres in town, none of which Toshiba had in their database. I had to go to one of the shops and get them to call Toshiba, and even then it was a hassle.

I'm going back to a Powerbook next year.

uhh don't buy anything by apple for another year -1.5.. remember they are going to x86 arch. so you can simply buy a dell and get a copy of osx x86 and your set..

and for those who say osx won't get ported over for non apple hardware your joking yourselves.. it will happen 2 hours after it hits stores.

Mine: P4 2.8, 1G ram 4x80G 7200 in raid 5. Radeon 9800 pro - no rice on my case, just standard lanli with no front usb. :(



Wife's - right behind me: Athlon 1800XP, 512 ram, a few drives. gforce 4 gts



Kitchen: Via 800 mhz maybe? 256m ram



Basement router/servers: P133 and an older P3 450.



My fav though is the xbox with the Media center software.



And a dell Centrino laptop for work.

Good to know . . . the paper i work at is switching to PCs in the newsroom, which sucks balls in my department. So, you're saying that we'll be able to run a Mac OS on our brand new PCs? I wonder how that would mesh with the network? The same as it is now I suppose. That would be an ideal solution . . . of course, we'd have to do it all ourselves since our computer dept. puts the SH in IT

Desktop: Pathetic Pentium Celeron 500 with 13gig HD, 256MB RAM, CDRW, Wireless G, all crap....just a net machine...

Uhh no. Apple is very good at keeping their products close to their chest. Unless you feel like playing a cat and mouse game of constantly looking for hacks. And besides, who wants a POS Dell.

That being said, I would wait for a new Powerbook to come out unless you really need one right away. I love my 12" but I'm really looking forward to have a next gen Pentium M in my next PowerBook.
