I agree! But it starts with you and me... we need more people that are willing the stand up and do something rather then passing if off on the 9 out of 10 people argument.
It might sound well and grand to us, but you try and convince the big-wigs who are making hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars in the big companies to cut back on their profits. Not gonna happen. Corporations are greedy. Greedy people may try and look like they're doing something good for the environment (and maybe they are) but ultimately they won't make any decision unless they make more money.
Are you justifing wages of a plant employee in China b/c the multi national does not want to upset the pay scale of other proffesions? Your kidding right?
Do you honestly believe what you type?
It might be a good idea to enrol in an economics class before you make comments that prove your lack of knowledge. Tromping Maniac basically answered your post.
Yes it helps companies with Cheap labour, but if you would walk into Taiwan offering to pay employees $150/day, it would drive their social system through the floor.

This made history this week as the first Honda's made in China to be exported to Europe, so things maybe changing.
Should be interesting to see how Honda's quality does. Even if they keep tight controls I think it will need to be micromanaged like crazy to keep their reputation high (Not that I've seen any kind of scenario like this or anything )
