I switched from Rogers to Bell when I moved from Ontario about 6 months ago. So far I've found Bell to be pretty good. They gave me an awesome deal to get me to switch (a $45/month plan free for a year and a free phone).
I recently swapped my phone for a Blackberry. The woman I called at Bell was pretty wretched about cutting me a deal, but when I went into the store the woman I spoke to gave me $100 off that, as an existing customer, I wasn't actually eligible for. She just smiled and winked and cut it off my bill. Very cool.
I think the bottom line is that all cell providers will screw you. If you really need rural coverage, or are totally set on a particular phone, then maybe one carrier is better than another. Other than that, find the best deal right now and go with it.

I've been with Telus since having a phone, over 10 years. I have never had a problem. Everywhere I have ever gone I have had service (except Mexico) and have never experienced any dropped calls. I have called customer service several times for various reasons and have always received decent service. There have never been any fees on my bill that I didn't know were going to be there.
Not sure how so many people have had problems with Telus, I have not experienced it.

well i use telus since its a company paid for phone, etc but i get good service when i visit my parents up north so i'm happy with that.. i dunno i just wish they used GSM so we could get the fancier units but oh well
i have a friend that works at telus and there's rumors that cingular is coming to canada, i'm gonna give that ago i've heard only good things about them
Well Cingular is a GSM network so I would think if they come it would be in a possible partnership with Rogers. When in Cali my phone used Cingular service and they sell Razr's for $199 US!!

^^ That's going to break, like that stupid key-like phone Rogers had for awhile (motorola one)
Telus doesnt even use SIM cards yet, wtf is that about? I get a new phone, move my sim card, boom, all my numbers and shiz...With telus you gotta manually put them all in..Fun!

thats true, we get alot of those phones coming back here at the store. the phone loses its "snap". it sorta haphazardly folds down like a limp dick. id be pissed if mine did that, but I have a samsung 680 and i love it.
unfortunately we dont have GSM here in manitoba so I can't have phones as cool as the ones you guys have.
speaking of those razor phones like we did in the cell phone thread, we had a meeting and were told there were a ton of probs with it because its so skinny the entire phone can actually bend like if its in your pocket and you sit on it, it will conform to your round ass and actually curve and thus press the buttons without you knowing it

For sure you have to be careful with the phone because of the size, it is strong but I would not want to sit on it.

it's actually pretty durable like the old samsung fliptops...
telus has the worst customer service in the world... didn't they get sued over there service and have to pay back customers?

Theres no such thing as a durable cell phone anymore! They stopped making them right around the time Nokia got big with those cube phones that had no antenna....Cellphones is a sore topic for me as I seem to go thru at least 2 a year, not because I want to, but because they break...Im not overly rough or anything, just use it alot!
