Fortunately for me, when my Jetta gets dusty, I am back cleaning it, so I never use that much water any more, to keep it clean. Do the rest of the NVD members have their strategies in order, so that their cars will remain gleaming??

Re: Shiny VW's vs. water shortage/Ryan contest
Yeah but if the water shortage gets bad I am sure they will not hesitate to make car washes close or impose limits or hike the rates. I am going to do my part and let the car be dirty for a bit, but a quick rinse and wipe down with detail spray would do the trick.Blair

Re: Shiny VW's vs. water shortage
I might actually have to pay for a car wash if this keeps up! I always use my pressure washer at home, but I don't need a $2000 fine right now! Maybe I'll just spray her down with a squirt bottle and then dry her off. I don't think I'll put too much effort in thought considering it is suppost to rain on Thursday.Kyle

Um, i always go to spray washes to wash my car so Im not affected by this all that much..if they start closing down the bays Ill just go out to my parents place to wash my car. They are on a well so the city can shove their tickets heh
edit: So if they are supposedly closing down these biz's what kind of compensation is available? Thats gotta be illegalLast edited by James; 06-21-2005, 01:18 PM.REAL men use harsh language as self-defense

They also said that if it gets bad enough they will start shutting down residential on a rotation basis. So I think you pussies can live with a dirty car for a few days. I think that drinking water is slightly more important than washing your freakin' car.Last edited by Mr. Burns; 06-21-2005, 01:22 PM.

Re: Shiny VW's vs. water shortage
Yah, my car is terrible, plus it is covered in butterflies & bugs from my trip to Lethbridge this weekend, but I can live without a clean car for a while. I would rather there be water to shower, drink, & put out fires than have a shiny car.
I could have punched the guy on my street who was washing his van & hosing out his garage.
Maybe this would be a good time to have a "post your dirtiest dub" thread to see who is indeed the dirtiest
