    Re: Considering the Dark Side

Wow everyone has mentioned faster, more power etc but not one person has mentioned the safety factor. Would you rather drive in a tin can or a tank? Personally from experiance I will take the tank please.

Well Smartie wants a faster car, but I do agree (ive only ever driven a 1.7el or whatever the acura civic sedan is) that the acura felt really cheap. Just the sound that those cars make when you close the door...its not the same.

and about speed, if you are currently driving a 2l anything you've mentioned is going to be like a race-car.

An RSX MIGHT be somewhat quicker than a stock 1.8t GTI at sea level, but it sure isn't up here.

If I recall correctly stock RSX's dyno up in Edmonton at about 155 WHP and 120'ish WTQ (I am really sketchy on the tq.. faded memory) and my GTI dyno'd at 166 WHP 175 WTQ stock.

Plus I did some time comparisons with some dudes the last time I was at race city and the RSX-S's were high 15's and my Revo'd GTI was 14.0 - 14.1.

You sure about that?? My APR stage 3 did a 14.9,(93 program) and a GT28rs golf did a 15.0..(not tuned properly, but was still way faster then a stage 1 car..) a 14.0 seems very fast for a chipped car in calgary.... for comparison my car with the K04 did a 14.3 in T.O

14 flat in Calgary for a chipped GTI seems unlikely unless you've stripped it for weight?

                            Re: Considering the Dark Side

As prior Honda person I would say stay with the VW. I have owned a 90 Accord, a 95 integra and a 91 CRX I had an engine swap in my CRX and some minor bolt ons On the integra I had about every bolt on you could think of and a ported intake manifold. I know both of thoes are not a RSX-S. I also test drove a RSX-S while looking for new cars. I was not verry impressed with it. I have now owned 4 VW's in less than 2 years. I love them, all of them handeled better than any honda I ever owned. One of the major things I like about VW over honda is the quality of build and design. VW's just seem more refined, and more solid.

I also have one other note it hase been bothering me since I read it. the guy theat recomended he get a civic and put in a b22 from a CRX you are way off and I hope that was an atempt to mock the Honda guys. It really should be a H22 motor and it come from a prelude. there is also b series motors which are the B16 from either a 99 civic Si or a del sol, or a B18C1 out of an integra GS-R. there is not any NA spec CRX offered with a B series motor. In Japan there are many B16 CRX's and in europe there are just a small amount of B16 equiped CRX's. Sorry for the rant but that was bothering me.

Even still a 15.0? What else do you have.. its gotta be more then just a simple chip. What gas program? The golf that I ran against had the the 28rs, a FMIC, full exhaust, and any other bolt-ons available.. he couldnt break 15.0
