OK, this is probably a dumb question to the tech-savy crowd on our boards. But is there a way to sync up our phatnoise systems with and ipod so that I can play the M4U (I think that's what the file type is ) from itunes?
I don't think the phatnoise supports M4U/AAC type files....If I remember correctly its an Itunes/Ipod only deal....Its easy enough though to convert to MP3 though if you use dbpoweramp with the needed plugin (all free)

Cool, thanks for the input Alex! I just Googled the dbpoweramp and will take a look at it. Thanks man!
The Phatbox does indeed play AAC files when you purchase the Media Manager software for $15 from them. I have done it and half of the collection on my Phatbox is AAC. Works great!
I should clarify actually... it plays non protected AAC files (ie: .m4a) - it does NOT play files downloaded from the iTunes store (which use a proprietary DRM)... they have the extension of .m4p
I never download from te Itunes store......Thats cool that it will play AAC, I rip all my music in it, its a far better compression agent, with much better quality..

But dbpoweramp can still convert .m4p to mp3, correct?

I would be surprised if it could as Apple's DRM is totally proprietary. The only way that I know of to change the encoding/rerip is to burn to CD and reimport. That will definitely bypass the DRM.
