I won't be jumpin to pick up a mk-V GTI. I'll let the rest of you beta test the 2.0t FSI and I'll pick one up once the bugs are worked out, the mods are mature, and the power goes up!

I was supposed to go to the meet however work got in the way. I do NOTHING at work all week long but when I have plans *poof* IT'S AN EMERGENCY.

      Grr.

It'll be just like the Mk4 in terms of increasing power....AWW or AWP don't matter, once you BT them or chip them, its all the same.... I'll be glad to test the GTI, after poking around that one in europe a couple weeks back, I'm tempted to pre order one at the dealership.....seriously

Heh. My dog, Loki, will indeed be enjoying my GTI. His ability to cover everything with dog hair from 10 paces away, through 2 protective barriers, is the reason I'll have to go with the tan interior.

If you have a dog then leather is probably in your best interest.

I HATE leather in terms of 'me' comfort for many reasons, however being the (sometimes) proud parent of three large dogs (one of whom is a 100 pound constantly shedding Husky) the leather has been a great help in keeping the seats relatively hair free. It is a completely different story when it comes to any of the carpeted surfaces.

              Yay for black carpet.. Not.

When I went to sell my Passat Wagon it took the detailers nine hours to get it mostly dog hair free.

Re: Nice to meet you all

Doesn't a 100 pound husky tear through leather with his claws? I ruled it out assuming that Loki would just tear it up.

Now I need to rethink. I hate leather seats, they're gross when wearing a short skirt in the summer (not a problem for most of you, I assume), but I hate the constant dog hair in spite of my best efforts even more.

got some swunt (or swotch if you're less offensive) with the leather eh?? hehe....I like leather personally, but judging by the next GTI, I may not get it due to the cool cloth thats in it.....

Re: Nice to meet you all

Yeah, I have found that if I sit in the leather for long periods my skirt will get all bunched and sticky and I usually have to pull my thong out of some really nasty places.

My Husky and my Coonhound always go in the hatch. My little Lab / Dalmatian will ride up front or in the back seat if she is alone, but otherwise she goes in the hatch with the others. I suspect that if the Husky were on the leather she would hack it up pretty good.

Those are the back-up wheels I picked if I decided 19s were just a little too much. I assume the ones you're talking about are already sold, though? I'm from T.O., and I could have somebody pick them up.

Ginch, he said the renos were half done. If they were just in the works, I'd be betting with you on the suspension. But half done doesn't make for the most comfortable of living spaces.

Now, if I freak out and put new wheels and suspension on my credit card, then, then there might be some suspension action on the white Golf.

Dang. Now I want to put wheels and suspension on my credit card.

I do that too. I keep telling myself 'I already have two other project cars. BAD SPENDING.. BAD.'
