Ya, I forgot, I <3 MTV.

Believe you me, I know my music, and I like just about any genre from classical to metal. There is hip-hop I like but alot of what you listed below was on MTV (hah Royce 5'9 is underground eh?!) at one point or another (and Ive only heard of 3/4 the list)

Rap/hip-hop is supposed to be lyrical and its amazing how far away from that its gotten, underground or not.

For the record, both my siblings (even the music major in university) listen to good music

edit: As for commerical music/getting out of the house? haha Take a scroll thru my MP3 player some day and I bet you've never heard of 80%

Wicked stuff . . . that dude is from Enfield, a rural area of Nova Scotia. I love his stuff. I shot one of his concerts last summer . . . wicked guy. You should check out Universal Soul - they played with Classified at some big outdoor concert last year and did some freestye battling on stage. Really cool.

Matt Mays and El Torpedo (local band that keeps getting better and better), the latest Social Distortion (can't remember the album name offhand), some classic Public Enemy, bit of Hendrix, Joel Plaskett. I'm waiting for Gordie Johnson's new band to finish their album - that'll be good highway music.

Joel Plaskett opened for The Hip when on their last tour. They were alright, very classic sound with that tiny amp just screaming. He was an awesome performer.

I'm going to see him in a small venue this May. I think their PA system has been playing catch up, but now that they're making cash, things should be cooler live.

Crazy....well If I would have seen you I probably would have said hey. I was too busy trying to figure out where the heck I was (never go to that mall and used a totally different entrance than usual)

Well, I think he liked that sound, I could be wrong. Some guys love a small high power tube amp run with next to no effects. With a small amp you can get it loud enough to get tube distortion, I think that's what he was going for. I should maybe check out his album. Like I said though, good performer, he was constantly changing stuff up, making up lyrics that pertained to the moment and stuff. The bass player drove me a little crazy though, he was outta place.
