  • Gt4 Wow! Awesome!

I picked up a copy of GT4 tonight after I almost passed out when I finaly saw it in the store. If you plan on buying this get a brand new memory card just for it. The case says 2000kb to save game and that does not include all the extra pctures you can take. A really cool feature I found while setting up the game you can transfer licences and up to 100,000cr from you GT3 save game. The graphics are amazing and they have the best track of all time on this game the Nurburgring. Also a cool note you can race in a 4x4 Dodge ram 1500 hemi. I thought it was cool. If you want to get an R32 go to the tuning city and go to HPA you can get their fully prepared 500+ hp R32 for less than the stock one.

Anyone else played this yet? Lets hear what you think.

Thanks to your post, I'm leaving work early, skipping the gym, and heading to Best Buy to pick up a copy.... I haven't even got the game yet and it's already a bad influence LOL

It is a sweet-a$$ game. I have been playing it since it came out. But my stupid slim ps2 keeps locking up when I win a race so I can't save my progress.... grrr

I have promised myself that I will finish school before playing this, otherwise I'll fail for sure. I got 90+% completion on GT3, so this is gonna take alot of my time up.

                  Re: Gt4 Wow! Awesome!

I got it last week and am at around 12% completion. I just finished the 1000 mile race (the B-Spec mode comes in handy for races such as this) and had a cool 1 Mil in the bank before splurging on a TVR Speed 12 and modding it to 1078 hp.....

So far my favorite cars to use are the '64 Ginetta (stage 3 turbo, racing exhaust, etc, etc - 230hp in a car weighing 411kg!), a modified R32, the '05 BMW M5, and of course the Speed 12.

I also won the 1886 Daimler Benz - I think it's steam powered and good for a whopping 1 hp. I ran it up to its top speed of 18km/h before the speed limiter kicked in and knocked me back down to a more reasonable 13km/h :P

The Nurburgring is simply insane and the detail that went into the track is mind boggling - every camber change, road irregularity, and bump feels as close to real life as a console game can get. Driving 350km/h + down the Mulsanne Straight is pretty fun too

All in all, it's a fantastic game. I just wish I had more credits as I'm finding it hard to choose between a Mercedes McLaren SLR or buying another M5 to tune to the tits along with an E55 and SL65 to keep it company....

What is the quickest and best event/race to earn credits? I left my old GT3 data in Calgary so I'm starting from scratch here So far, I'm driving a POS MR2 and making like 500cr a race in the family cups .... a looooong way from getting anything decent.

I just picked up my copy the other day and I can already feel my life wasting away

You can make some good prize money in the European Hot Hatch Challenge. I used a modded R32 for that and you just walk away from all the competition. There's 5 races of about 2-3 laps each i think, so it's quick and easy money.

I would then try to get a '64 Ginetta and mod it as much as possible and then tackle the 1000 Mile Race (for cars up to 1970). Depending on the opponents - sometimes an AC Cobra sneaks in there and makes things tricky - you will lay waste to everyone.

What I did was race the first ten laps of each race to build up a good lead, then pitted and switched over to B-Spec mode. Then once you leave the pits, hit R1 to switch to the mode where you see all the race data and then hold down L1 and tap right twice to speed up the time (x3) so that a normally 3+ hour long race will actually take 1 hour.

                      Have fun!

Thanks Chris! Those are some good tips. I was actually saving up for the R32 but I'm only half way there I'll try the hot hatch challenge and 1000 miler tonight.

Hot Import Nights is happening tonight at the LA convention center, but I'll be playing with imaginary cars instead! LOL

Did you use the HPA R32 or a regular one? I have the HPA R32 and I am not alowed in the euro hot hatch races. You can switch modes in the middle of a race? How? Do you get the same credit for the race in either mode? I thought you had to go through all the races in each mode.

How do you get the MK1 it says I can't buy it and I have not won it yet. Do you unlock cars to buy as you go through the game?

I have the HPA R32 and you cant enter euro events with it becasue it is a North American tuning company. You can however enter american events and smoke all those huge v8s with your little golf.

EDIT: To get the 76 gti you must beat the gti cup with all gold
