I'm too lazy to refute any of these rediculous comments right now, but you're totally wrong. I think it's pretty obvious that you just have a hate-on for Apple in general and haven't done much research.

If you want to do some research, compare top tier PC hardware manufacturers with Apple. The price is not as great as you imagine.

And Apple does have a SAN solution called Xsan for use on their Xserve products. Those servers also support clustering and grid computing. Until recently, one of the top super computing systems in the world was an Xserve cluster (recently bumped off).

Anyways... yeah... that's all i've got for now.

First of all, I have somewhat of a hate on for apple desktops as Ive been on windows since 3.1, that however doesn't mean I haven't used most of their product.

Secondly, I never said apple doesnt have a SAN solution, I said we used samba share in jaguar or whatever TF release it was (10.3..panther, cheetah? I dunno, some cat name) and it has pass-thru to AD so we used our existing IBM san..cool, but a long time coming. (and I know there were solutions previously, but never as integrated in the OS build)

Thirdly, Ive got a test lab at work and it has a couple of 800mhz G4s...They run faster than an p3 800 but the cost of that chip is probably what a new 3.0+ ghz p4 would cost...and for use in the average company they can't run alot of apps.

haha actually my crappy highschool i adminned the damn apple network there from grade 8-12 and then when went off to college they burnt them all and ordered dells and setup a 2000 AD solution that summer and i helped build LOL crazy shizz

ps.. if you like the fancy gui of osx (which i do) simply run konfabulator and objectdock or Yzdock and you can get the same snazziness
