The real problem is that Calgary has grow so fast and the old City Council (Al Duer et al) never spent a penny on roads. The new gang has spend over half a billion in interchanges. The work is long over due. Nobody likes to sit in traffic while the construction is going on but short term pain for long term gain.....

Humm....Reminds me of that old joke.

Cop pulls over a car with two guys in it for speeding and hits the driver with his nightstick for not handing over his DL and stuff fast enough. The cop then walks over to the passenger side and hits the passenger. The passenger says "Hey why did you hit me?" The cop say "cause I know you would have turned to your buddy a few blocks down the road and said ...If that cop had of tried that **** on me I would have ......"ran over his head and smashed it like a warm juicy coconut".


Moral of the story is that getting up in the cops face will only bring you more trouble. If you feel that you have been incorrectly charged then do some research on the law and plead not guilty.

lol dude i was just trash talking.. i would never talk back to a cop unless they were giving me attitude.. i've been spared so many times in this city by the police so i'll be nice.. i shoulda go a huge ticket the other day on 16th for doing 95 in the 60 and the cop just smiled at me..

You hit the nail on the head with this one. Old Al "do nothing" Duerr, Mr. Beige Himself was so worried about tax hikes, even modest ones that now we are living in a city with the trasportation sytem for 500,000 people and we are approaching 1 million people. This is not the fault of the current council, but the legacy which was left by a reign of doing nothing. The cities infrastructure is hurting, and not only the roads but pools, community centers, parks and public transit.

On top of that cities have been getting the shaft when it comes to the gas tax rebates and only see a small portion of the amount of the gas taxes that were paid are returned.

On the up side, you look at the Deerfoot extension and they had the foresight to put in the interchanges for the communities that are there in the future. These interchanges cost a fraction of the cost (about 25%) to build before they are needed and dont cause the headaches of putting them in at a later date.

Traffic & construction suck, but I hope things will be better in the long term. For now I will remain a prisoner in my own community.

Al "Do Nothing" Duerr did nothing so his position wasn't challenged. Did the minimum to get by without pissing people off.

Here's a piss-off... 37ST from Anderson Road to 22X... They've built a big flyover bridge (destroying a lot of Fish Creek in the process) and the first thing they did was put in three lights.... 10 years from now they're gonna rip it all apart again to put in damned overpasses...

This city and traffic is ridiculous... Calgary needs to speed up the process and do something, fast.

BTW - I'm applying to CPS in three months so Im gonna be a stupid cop!!!!!!!!

pepper spray on food is no good, trust me....Where I used to work we carried OC spray, and we tried it on wings.....like crap I tell ya....

Some of my buddies who are cops used to use it to intiate recruits... Moral of the story: never go to the washroom with a bunch of cops at your bar table.

pepper spray on food is no good, trust me....Where I used to work we carried OC spray, and we tried it on wings.....like crap I tell ya....

It is pretty good on burgers. I tried it a few times.

I don't eat pork anymore, but when I was a chile, my family had the best pepper-spray sauce recipe...used to marinade our salt-pork & chitterlings in it...actually now that I'm thinking about it, the pepper-spray-sauce wasn't even that good, but we used to like it just so we didn't hurt Momma's feelings...
