i have a friend that has a bell pvr setup but he has a removalable HD installed into it so he PVRs up PPV's then puts it back into his PC and burns DVDs outta them its friggin sweet

Yah, I got to thinking about it yesterday, and I think an all in one solution is better. Either the Bell PVR or one of the new DVD players with a hard dirve that can do the same function plus the ability to record TV shows to DVD.

my dad just picked up one of those nifty DVD recorders with built in harddrive. He watches pay per views and records it to a DVD-R at the same time and adds it to his library of movies. its not a cheap device though! $$

Yah, I was looking at them the other day, and they are still a little pricey IMO. Like all thinngs thought they should come down in a year or so. Look at plasma or DLP TV's. they are almost affordable compared to what they were less than a year ago.

I just ordered my chip - Xenium Ice solderless, 86 bucks shipped.

Turns out my 1.1 Xbox had already been modded at one point, so when I opened it up there was a pin header installed. Soldering looked ok so I put my chip on the existing header, put in the d0 point and added the led status plate (had to dremel, sparks flying again!).

All in all, pretty idiot proof. Just slaved a 160 gig drive, hit "upgrade HD wizard" and it's formatting/copying now.

I bought it from http://www.divineo.com/ - it's in Canada so no exchange/duty and the thing arrived in 3 days. Paid with paypal to boot.

I picked up my new HD, got a Seagate Barracuda 160GB drive, now just waiting to hear about the chip, and I'm set!! Gonna be game heaven.......

Ok, I could be way off because I haven't looked into the modding thing for a while but I thought anything bigger than 120gig could have problems?

The newer bioses can handle the bigger drives - they just make another partition. (So I have F and G).

Which chip did you buy Alex? And is your xbox 1.6? It's totally the cat's ass btw.
