Well generally any lighting mods that do not have DOT numbers on them can be illegal so I would think some tails are good and others not. Really it just comes done to how nice or not the cop is going to be, if they want they can probably find something to ticket on every modded car, just whether they care or not. I honestly think that most of this comes down to age discrimination, how many times have you heard of a 50 year old man getting a tint ticket in his Lincoln and I bet none of those large trucks with Altezzas will get pulled over.

Sorry just ranting a bit as this has always bugged me even though I am old enough to not have these problems any more. I wonder if my shaved bumper will get me in any trouble, that is if I ever get it.

Yeah, I got pulled over once for having my "stereo too loud"...The stereo was stock speakers w/ 2 12" severely underpowered rockfords with gain less than 1/2 (I dont really listen to rap, I got the subs for free so I threw em in :P)..He gave me the ticket too, even tho I said I bet if he measured the DBs I would be under..And those last tickets I got in the jetta (seatbelt / wrong address on license) were both crap..I mean seatbelt is my bad, but hes already pulling me over for something stupid, why give a 2nd ticket? Cause I proally drive I nicer car than him when he gets off work is why.

You should have forced the cop to measure it, and thanked him for wasting your time, his time, and taxpayer dollars when it turned out to be under the limit.

Yeah..You know those subs! You gave em to me haha..I did say he could measure it and he said he didnt have the tool in his car but he had been a cop for a long time and knew when it was too much..Proally shoulda fought it, but I think the ticket was like $60 (this is before the rate increase) so it wasnt THAT bad.

I thought altezza's were always illegal, except for like those ones that come on the IS300's and stuff....

As long as they have the dot approval and have the red reflectors (either inside, or stick on below) it's fine. But most people don't stick on the reflectors. One car I was behind a few months back had the altezzas but had hyper WHITE bulbs in his brakes. About the stupidest thing I've seen in years.

I am pretty sure that I know what you are getting (new In.pros c/c/r/r) they should be fine. The popo are likely cracking down on ricer tails where the red reflector is not visible from both the side & the rear. You new tails look to be okay that way. I have been waiting for these tails to come out for a while too and have been thinking really hard about ordering them.

Most of the altezza's sold in places like autozeal and mopac, and autodream, etc. are not legal, and they state that too, just like headlight covers, just like under car neon, just like tint, just like blue bulbs, you know the drill.......

If they are hella, then they should be legal? I kinda like the In.pros though.

What I really think they need to make illegal are those taillight masks. I was behind a Ram truck today on Deerfoot with the ones cut out to look like ram head, and they were next to impossible to see. They should also clamp down one the guys with the beat up honduhs who put blue light in thier signals, those make me irrate.
