  • Pic Request?? (Sorry I've been on the "'tex")

Ok, so it's probably mostly for the MK3 fans. it seems the latest fad is to rock Corrado Steelies, and since I have a chance to get some for a good price I was wondering if there are any pics out there of people running them on Golfs. It would be a very economical thing for me to do.

    Thanks.

LOL i guess those are steelies.. i dunno how many steelies you can buy with 5" of polished lip but okay.. for the price you can probably score some hot 15" OZ Sl's that weigh like 10lbs each then you'd be fast

Yea, but I can probably get them for under 200 bucks easy. Only thing is i'm making sure they are 15" and also that they are in "ok" condition, if they are super rusty (Manitoba winters) then I'm not sure what I could do to recondition them.

I know I need to be low, but if I did this I could afford to buy suspension over the winter. otherwise It'll take me forever to save up for wheels AND suspension, i'm poor.

How did he get the polished lip, I'm sure he inserted the the steelie part into another wheel but what kind? It was a Jolf too.

And Ryan, nothing could make my car fast, unless the OZ's had their own power source It's gonna be look, that's it, my hood will never be open unless I get the entire block polished!! now THAT would be cool

Also, did the first 2 have inserts? I think they did but hard to tell from the pictures, gotta see if he has those too (I'm sure he will but gotta ask).

And yea, Blair, I figured you'd be the one to find 'em.

I think they have a cap that covers the bolt area here is a closer pic.

I do believe that they are only 14" but I could be wrong. The look almost like a multi piece but welded as on so if you take of the center and put it in a wider rim presto you can have the wide polished wheels. I think they look good as is and if the price is right and condition not to bad I would go for it!!

Thanks Blair, well the owner thinks they are 15" (I wonder if they came in 2 sizes) but he's not sure as he also has 15" 5 bolt steelies for his current Corrado (traded his '90 G-60 in for a '93 VR6). He's gonna check, in the next couple days the price should be good, i'm not gonna rip him off or anything but they are just in storage. I hope he has the caps and stuff, I might be able to get them from the dealer if he doesn't. Either way, if they are a good price and ok shape, me thinks i'm gonna do it up (of course by next year people will think I'm dumb, heh). If they are a bit rusty I should be able to fix them up a little?

Also, if anyone is interested in a decent Corrado, I believe it will be up for sale soon, 93 VR6 original owner.

Even if they are rusty, take em into any bodyshop, have them sandblasted, and paint them whatever colour you want....That would look great....

Yea, that's what I was thinking, I could probably just clear them too if I really wanted, or a friend of mine works at a detail shop where they powder coat so I might be able to do that for cheap too.

Just my luck, it's now COOL to run steelies, wheel options don't get much cheaper than that.

I'm still curious what those custom ones must have cost. I wouldn't do it but man that must have been pricey.

So I got some pictures from him they are def the right ones and they are 15" 4-bolt, he has 2 of the caps for sure and thinks the other 2 could be found with out too much trouble but even if he can't find them, I know they are still available from the dealer.

So the question is, what are they worth? He basically said to just make him an offer. He doesn't have any 4-bolt cars and doesn't plan on getting one so they are just sitting around. I'd just have to pay shipping from winnipeg (couldn't be that much). They come with winter tires mounted too. I'm thinking of offering 200 with tires maybe, but i'm not sure. I hate when people say, "make me an offer", heh. But I want them for sure (The Fiance's up for the look too which helps).

                        Thanks y'all

Sounds good Jason I think the look will be pretty cool, just need to get on that drop and you will have a cool looking ride. I am not really sure on the offer as they are hard to value but you could try $200 plus shipping and see what he says, he can always counter, just get things rolling!

Yea, I'll try that, honestly I don't think he cares too much, he'll be happy to get rid of them, I'll think about it and let him know, i'm not gonna do it right away as i'm trying to get some stuff from BC right now first.
