  • Senior Citizen Drivers

I went to the car wash to get the ride cleaned up for SCN. On the way back, on old dude in a Civic is waiting at a yield sign where the flow of traffic is going like 100km. He has a huge line of sight too for oncoming traffic. Despite this, he pulls in front of me with only about 4 car lengths between us (I was going about 90km) I had to run onto the grass/dirt to avoid hitting him and go Subaru Rally styles Luckily no damage, but I'm still pissed.

Same thing happened to me, well sorta. Some old guy was in his truck with his big ass (100lb+) dog jumpin all over the cab. He kept creeping into my lane more and more until I honked and cut into the other lane so he would realise he was gonna hit me. well he didnt hear my horn I guess cause he swerved hard back into the lane I had just moved into(this is on canyon medows drv. so im goin 70-80ish) and forced me up over the curb onto the grass. Luckily for me, I was drinking an ice cold pepsi beverage at the time so I lobbed it out the window and put it on the hood of his truck.

I think that once you hit 65, you should need to go get your license renewed once a year and if you can't pass, you dont get another shot.

I think that's happened to most people that know how to drive, at least he wasn't doing that in a Merge lane, that's a whole 'nother level of ignorance.

What you guys need is a "Canyon Arrow" Then you wouldn't have to worry about getting run off the road. "1 Hi-way, 0 City"

I've been saying for a long time, that it should be manditory to re-do your drivers exam every 4 years or so. It would get all those old and brutal drivers off the road. Driving here in North America is an embarrasement. They wont let you speed, or even drive at a decent speed..... but yet you can yap on the phone, eat, have a dog in your lap, etc.... all while you drive. They wonder why European drivers are so much better and safer even though they drive faster.... well, it's because they PAY ATTENTION.

Yeah, It's not the first time I've nearly been smashed by someone not paying attention. But it's the first time I've actually been offroading in my Jetta There was dust, dirt, and grass flying everywhere. What really steamed me was that I pulled over to check for damage. As buddy regained his composure and started driving again, I stood on the side of the road waiting for him to pull up to me (it was a one lane road). But no. He just drives right past me and doesn't even make any eye contact as if nothing even happened I would have followed the moron home if he was 20yrs younger.

Hense the Pepsi toss my friend. You can't hit an old guy, but you can throw sh!t at his car

The thing that gets to me is when you get cut off and have to slow down 30+km so you honk, and then the jerk in the car that cut you off flips you the bird because he doesnt see how he was at fault..Yerg..

That is the worst, nothing like an old fart or some soccer mom who flips you off despite having no lack of driving skills. I have been known to throw the coins in my ash tray at people, but now I have attained inner peace. Still people are morons in this City.

                    Re: Senior Citizen Drivers

Thats funny - I offroaded my car for the first time the other day (though it was due to me being an idiot with NFS on the brain).

Unfortunately as long as seniors remains a powerful voting bloc you won't see any politicians suggesting restrictions on their driving - unless that politician wants to lose.

I have a friend who keeps a bucket of golf balls behind his seat for similar occassions. They are easy to aim out the sunroof and make a very bold statement regarding your mood AND the cops don't question why they are there like they do a baseball bat or BB gun.

That is crappy, Derick. The old fogey was prolly afraid, and just kept going.

The yield coming out of crowfoot crossing (by the dodge and honda dealership) to get onto crowchild west bound is a bad one. Dont know how many times some one has pulled out of there and cut me off.

LOL... my bro recently got into airsoft, and those guns look crazy real. I should keep his glock in my glove box for these occasions

I've got a Glock Airsoft and an Uzi mini full auto from when I was in Japan. They are insanely realistic! We used to have a grand old time capping each other in the office.

I'll save the story of 4 big white guys running down the streets of Tokyo unleashing a hail of bb's at each other in early evening. We had to hide from the police.
