  • Broke my cell...

So I broke my cell phone (Rogers). Does anyone know if its even possible to have a cell phone repaired, or should I just buy a new one?

I would really like a Nokia 6320 but can't find a good price. Anyone know someone who can get good prices on Nokias?

I've had this phone for like 3.5 years I am pretty sure they won't replace it just cause I dropped it too many times?

my phone died on me using telus. they give you three options.
          1) they send it away to be repaied, you're without a phone for 2 months.
          2) you find a 3rd party repair place with no warranty on their work
          3) you buy a new phone

If it's been 3 years, why not get a new phone? I replaced Trinas ericson brick with one of those tiny motorollas and it was only 25 bucks or so for the change.

Both Telus and Rogers want to keep all their customers....play one off against the other and you will end up with a free replacement but you will most likely have to sign a 3 year deal...

Do the free long term phone thing, but if you need a new one in 6 months, well see what kind of phone you can get for cheap to tide you over.

                          Re: Broke my cell...

Im currently with telus, and when my phone broke they pretty much told me to f-off. They said that they only provide service for the phones, thats all that in their contract to do. The free phone that you get for signing up is not their responsibility and the refused to replace my phone. My phone broke due to the same reason they stopped selling the Samsung TS300 all together, the earpiece just broke on it, then the keypad went. So it was a problem that occured on alot of the phones, but they still refused to replace it.

I ended up having to by some piece of crap clarnet phone that was still analog or some ****, so I dont get service ever. And they even refused to upgrade my software on my phone so it would work half decent.

Telus blows, and I hate them. If I could I would burn every single call center, store, payphone, and kiosk down. As soon as my contract is up Im going to switch to bell, cause they suck.

But Kor, I think they'll prolly just make you buy a new one, and if thats the case future shop has better prices on phones without contracts then the phone dealer place does. So yeah, good luck and hopefully you wont get screwed over like I did.

                          Damn telus. . .

I guess I am also in a unique situation because I likely need a Java MIDP2.0 compatible phone for some software development opportunities I would like to pursue. Hmmm ebay here I come. Maybe I can recoup some of the cost by selling whatever phone Rogers offers me with a new contract...

Kris since you have been a Rogers customer for a long period of time most likely you would qualify for some sort of phone upgrade. My suggestion would be to call the customer service center and tell them your situation and then see what they can do for you, they may give you a credit towards a new phone if you want a specific model.
