I really like the look of those things too, much better than the last one that looked like a refreshed intrepid. The only thing i'm unsure of is that Hemi. I don't think anyone has ever been successfull making an engine that shuts down some of the cylinders to save fuel. They say this one is supposed to be different in that it shuts down every other cylinder and circulates the coolant through the entire engine to prevent hot and cold spots but still. I guess we'll know in a couple years. My fiances uncle has a 2x4 regular cab Dodge 1/2 ton with a Hemi (in other words, lightest and lowest possible of all the configurations) and it gets 13mpg on the hi-way!

i had one (with an old guy!!) race me at a light. i got a really bad start (asr on and bogged the launch), he squealed his tires and he had like 2 car lengths on me by 3rd. i'm pretty sure it was the hemi but i couldn't make it out. he gave me a smile as he made his exit.

anyone know how fast those things are??

Ah, the new hemi ram trucks have simalar acceleration as a stock 1.8t gti. 345 hp and even more trq, but 5000 lbs and gearing more towards towing. Auto and rwd or 4wd, the dodge is prolly easier to launch from a stand.

The only trucks (stock) I would fear are the ford lightning, new srt-10, and gmc cyclone (remember those?)

Oh, and yea, gotta like the 300c.

We just bought the 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 SLT for work, really for work, although it's fun to bomb around in... We haul RV trailers from Oregon and deliver to Western Canada. This thing hauls-ass! I even outdid a Porsche, and I was loaded! Best damn feeling in the world that is! Over 700 torque. Just please don't ask me to help you move. Big ass beaute makes work enjoyable. And get this...considering all that weight and load we get about 25-30 mpg.

I am SO down for the 300 wagon (or Magnum). They are just freakin gorgeous.

I would buy the Hemi if I had to, but there is a rumour that the Cummins diesel might find its way in to the 300.

If they put the diesel in, oh man. In there like a dirty shirt.

Anyone know if VW is planning on the v10 diesel for the Passat?

I think the next (project) car will be a diesel.

Any new dodge with a cummins would be on my good list. Mountains of torque and easy to get even more. Seems to me that is one expensive engine upgrade though.

I would not have any problem paying an extra $3,000 for a diesel over the Hemi.

It's about an $8,000 option on their trucks

Yeah the $8,000 is MSRP (with an automatic) but right now with the mid-year sales goin on you can have a diesel for about $3000 - $4000 over the price of the Hemi.

Dodge is just rapin everyone with that option as the diesels are only slightly more expensive than the Hemi (because they outsource them).

If only they would shove the diesel in to a Dakota.
