The liberal's dont lie per se, they just bandwagon jump. Whatever the hot issue of the time is, they are backing it to whichever side will give them more votes. Once they have these votes, they do nothing. It's true that the CPC wanted to go slack on health-care and for many people (not me!) thats a big issue but what it really came down to is where the power rests. They are afraid of letting the west have power because we think alot differently than the east coast. We could cut canada off at the ont/qc border and lose nothing but scenery, dairy farms and the bulk of the countries unemployed. Canada would be a far more prosperous country without the burden that is the east (I lived in the east coast for more than half my life, great scenery and tourism potential, friendly people (minus the french f**ks(and I lived in qc too, so its fair game))) but other than that, its a money drain.

That being said, I don't want eastern Canada gone, I'd just like to see the provinces that pay their bills have more weight in the gov't. Representation by population will be the death of us. Do you know how many horney, cathloic, french people there are? And they sure as hell aren't moving out of quebec to go socialize with the "english devil". They will just grow up and vote bloq!

I am not going to chime in with my own opinions here... but in case things get out of hand, I will say I think its best to avoid disparaging the political views of others. One way to think if it is that if you wouldn't say it about another person's religion you shouldn't say it about their political party! You never know who you might be offending.

Yeah, also know that people are entitled to their opinions, I have many close friends who have different political beliefs, remember, you don't always have to disagree, but try and keep things polite.

Hey - I just call it like I see it. Not meant to hurt, but a little thing called freedom of speech. Im pretty sour that the liberals got as many seats as they did, thats my opnion. If you like the liberals, status quo is better communism to me

For the most part, I'm with j'aime on this. You are saying things that the pissed off side of me thinks about the gov't that keeps wasting my money. Too many times have they fuct things up and gotten away with it. On the other hand, I'm not sure that there are really any other parties that have members with the experience to run the country on an international level. For me, it boils down to getting a larger pie to split and not about splitting the same small piece of pie that we currently have. I am willing to give Martin and his crew a chance to rectify things.

                      Re: 2004 Election

Thats true politics is always about differences and thats why we have elections in the first place, because if we all agreed then running a country would be a piece of cake. I am not sure how to feel about the election outcome I am really not a true supportor of any party as in my opinion they are all flawed. The Liberals have a shady past and seem to be not great with money (but Canada is still not in a really poor position), the Conservatives have not had a chance to show what they can do with money but some of their social issues/ views have me nervous and even though this country is often divided west vs east the CPC has made that worse which I think will never help out our country.
