    Recent Price Update:

    DIESEL --> it's STILL $ 0.549 !!! yes, thats right $ 0.549 !!!
Where: --- MURPHY CANADA - 310 Shawville Blvd. SW, at the Shawnessy Walmart Location ---
    Last Checked: Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 1:30 p.m.

for more details, please see "How:" below..

Hey, with all of these gas price hikes... I feel for all you guys with gas powered VW's...
but at least you guys got http://www.calgarygasprices.com/

Us diesel drivers, have to fend for ourselves.... but I think that we all should be banding together....

So if any one of you fellow TDI drivers know of consistantly cheap diesel stations around town.... please post them here ...

54.9 Diesel ---> How: you have to go into Walmart first and put some money onto their "Reloadable Shopping Card". There is no charge for this... then you can drive over to the Murphy Gas Station (it's in the same parking lot as the Walmart), and swipe the "loaded-up" Walmart card at the pump to activate the discount.... if you choose not use the Walmart card to pay.. the Diesel costs $ 0.564 per litre... as they offer 3.5 cents off of their posted price of $ 0.599 ... (so, with the card, you get a combined 3.5 cent and a 1.5 cent Card Bonus discount of 5 cents off of their posted price)....

Attn: Gas VW drivers... this discount structure also applies to gas... even though I'm not sure, I think the gas price was about 81.9, without the discounts

This IS the BEST DEAL that I have seen in a long time.... especially now with all of the recent gas price hikes....

Re: Calgary Low Diesel Prices... please contribute

I've seen 59.9 everywhere.....I filled up a couple days ago at Gas King in Midnapore (Bannister Road SW) and it was 59.9. Also saw the Murphy Oil station in Shawnessy having a price of 59.9, those are the only 2 diesel stations near my house.. I'll post here if there have been any changes but it seems like its going to stay around 59.9....can't complain

Diesel is already cheap enough, I don't think you can complain

I always fill up at huskey/mohawk stations and the last time I filled up it was 62.5 at the one on 17th ave and 37th SW.

I also always fill up with Mohawk/Husky, they're the only ones I've found through my research (mainly TDIclub.com) that adds additives to clean injectors, etc. and as such I'd assume its more likely to be higher cetane as well. Shell advertizes base cetane at 40 and nothing more. Plus the cut on an AMA membership makes it worth it at Mohawk/Husky. When its still below freezing like this I take the advice of the TDI FAQ to only stop at stations with frequent diesel usage to make sure winterized or summer diesel is available at the right times.

I haven't seen it for less than 63.9 in the last day or so at any of the "name" stations, but a few independent stations (eg. by the NE NAPA near 32 Ave NE, by the truck wash behind the old drive-in in Forest Lawn) are always a few cents cheaper.

Anybody want to compare notes on the availability of diesel additives in Calgary? The two truck stops at Barlow/Deerfoot (Road King Shell and Esso) seem to have the best selection (Lubetec, Milligan biodiesel, Power Service, Diesel-Kleen, Powell, etc).

Ugg just paid 64.9 :( Sucks too since my milage sucks right now , still have to figure out why. I found lubmolly products and C1 but really have not looked around anywhere else.

The only additive I've tried so far that seemed to make an immediate difference in performance was the "performance" stanadyne formula. I found the small bottles at Auto-Value, but can't seem to find anyone to give me a discount for buying a case or bring in the big jugs of the stuff.

Hey Stampfan !!!! good news .. "I've got a line, on Stanadyne!"....
If you want the larger bottles or even gallons.... we should talk....
I've always used the "Lubricity" formula, and in every tank, I add 50ml....

I buy it from a local big rig supplier... and I've always bought the 487ml (?)bottles.... goes for about 8 or 9 fill-ups at (about) $5 bucks a bottle.
He also is an AmsOil dealer ....

I will be going there sometime this week... I need to replenish my supply...

I'm assuming you mean the biodiesel additive, or you're going to make your own batch of biodiesel?

I'd sure be nice to have a bio pump in Calgary.

I stopped by there today Aleos, bought two 1.9 litre bottles of the Performance Formula for $30 a piece (500:1 ratio per dose).

Thanks for the tip. Its much cheaper than buying the small bottles at Auto Value. I've also got the guy there pricing out an Amsoil oil filter for my TDI if he can get it.
