  • Edmonton's First RWB Porsche - Akira Nakai in Town

Ended up being one of the lucky ones to get to photograph Akira Nakai while he created the latest RWB and first to be supercharged up here in Edmonton. Enjoy!

So sick, wonder what the cost is to bring him in for something like that. Which shop did he do the work at?

I believe the kit itself is like 25k USD, but not sure about the rest of the costs.

Work was done at the Porsche Dealership, first RWB to be done at a dealer - and to be supercharged.

When he was working he actually clipped one of the coolant lines to the charger lol, finished his cuts and went for a smoke while others came in to fix the line.

          haha

Rauh Welt Begriff which translates to Rough World Concept which goes back to his drift roots and messing around with AE86's

Re: Edmonton's First RWB Porsche - Akira Nakai in Town

I love RWB cars, but what I don't love it the pedestal everyone puts the guy on. There are guys here in the States that genuinely seem to do nothing but chase him on social media.

Seems like all the immaculate paint/mechanical work is done prior, then he shows up with a caulking gun and grinder to install the widebody "bespoke" to each customers car. Bespoke sometimes means ill fitting unless you trim each panel in 15 places.
25 people then stand 25' away and don't eat for 4-5 days while in awe.

Granted it is a lot of skill, but c'mon, he must have done it 50-60 times by now, so it is hardly art at this point.

            Rant over - beautiful photos!

**Edit** Just read your post about the SC coolant line. He accidentally cuts a line, it becomes a story point on Speedhunters - you or I cut someone else's line and we're in trouble.

Rant really over. Photos still beautiful!

Lol well some of those responses are expected. Some people love him, some people hate him.

Yeah the coolant line everyone seemed pretty relaxed about. From my point of view being the first supercharged car he's done probably didn't expect to run into anything. Regardless owner was there during the entire process. Was fixed and everyone carried on.

And yea he has done a number of them, but has always been by eye and hand so it was interesting to watch him work.

Check out velocitymotorsport and avantgardemotorsports on instagram for more pics. He spent time at the shop with my brother-in-law. The finished product looks great.

Nice photos! Maybe he refused to do anymore Canadian porsches without superchargers after he signed my supercharger in vancouver a few months ago
