I don't remember your post, but it all depends on the area you are going to.
The France portion is a mix of the Castle country and some stuff I am interested in.

I am going to Paris, rent car, then over the next 7 days:
(Spending most nights in various cheap hotels aka: ibis budget, f1 which are $40-$50/night and one $120 night in a luxury castle, all accomodation outside of downtown cities is cheap in France)
        Versailles
        Chartres
        Lemans
        Tours
        Chenonceaux
        Davinci's house
        Chambord
        Bourges
        Clermond Ferrand

        Lyon:

        Go to Presqu’île
        rue de la République
        rue Victor Hugo
        le musée des Beaux-Arts, l’Opéra, l’Hôtel Dieu
        place Bellecour
        segway ride:
        Berges du Rhône
le parc de la Tête d’Or
        statue Louis XIV
        La Fourvière using "la ficelle"

        Dijon:
        Local cheese specialty l’Epoisses
Parcours de la chouette (owls trail buy the map and follow the tour)
        Place Darcy
        Porte Guillaume
        Palais des Ducs
        Rue Vaillant
        Eglise St-Michel
        Eglise Notre-Dame
        Cathédrale St-Bégnine
        Le Pavillon de l'Arquebuse

        Flight back to Vancouver.

It sounds like a lot but I have actually allotted a quite a bit of buffer time between each item. It's also easy to cut out something if you're tired, it's closed, or whatever.
It's easier to cut stuff out than to spend hours roaming around without a goal or idea what to see so I usually overplan, put a lot of buffer time between things, and then enjoy whatever I can! Last time I actually was able to see pretty much everything on my list!

All that time in France and Belgium and no mention of beer drinking? You should know water isn't safe down there.....

Now that is a detailed itinerary! I like it.

We are staying in Angers for Le Man and using the train, then doing a rental car with a little wandering. We have some key things that we didn't see last time in France like Mont Saint Michel.

We will be a little more static so that we can enjoy Wine country!

Thanks for the list, I'll definitely be looking at it to see if there is anything we've missed.

While you're in Belgium, you should try to visit Ghent or Bruge both super cool day trips!

Yeah, Ghent is on the list! But it's not here because it's the extra day and I'm not 100% sure to squeeze it in.
