That XC90 thread got me thinking 320hp for a 2.0l is 160hp/litre which is quite high by today's standards, but probably a lot of cars will be like that in a few years. Let's have a game of name the highest hp/litre car/engine off the top of your head, try not to google and let's see what we can come up with. Factory tunes are allowed, but no hybrid or electric vehicles, we're only comparing dinosaur powered ones!
And see if you can come up with NA and forced induction cars with and without tunes.
What I can think of for new cars is the new Volvo engine with the 2.0 direct injection twin charger with polestar tune available on XC90/V90/S90/V90XC 340hp, 170hp/litre. Without tune it'll be the Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadablahblahlio 505hp DI 2.9 twin turbo, 174hp/litre
For NA cars it would be the new 911 GT3 with the 3.8 making 475 hp at 125hp/litre, the good old F20C in the JDM S2000 makes 250hp with 2.0l which equals to 125hp/litre too.
What's your pick?
