I didn't read your original post completely.

You can just buy a 3 day permit for $30 or something like that, it gives you a paper plate to stick on the window. Make sure you have your insurance on the car.

    Good to go!

I am pretty sure you are missing a lot not driving a nice S4 car but what about playing it safe (since you aren't lucky with those) with a little more expensive solution and rent a trailer and a truck.....

Ha, I don't know what I was thinking...I never thought of that.

Worth looking into at least. They'd hopefully take my license.

          Don't overthink things.

Just use your plate and insurance if the seller won't or isn't able to help with a temp plate. When I brought back the A4 I didn't actually have insurance... it was included in the transit permit, aka license plate.

I mean in "normal time", I would like your plan and drive the car back but if I had some bad luck a short time ago.....I would play it safe and be able to relax and drive. If this S4 is factory, I am pretty sure you'll find it boring after driving yours anyway......

Shouldn't be too much of an issue for your license as a lot of Canadian or foreigner rent cars in the States.

Re: Picking Up a Car in the US & Driving it "Back"

I ended up running out of time, so I made the gamble and bought it unseen - shipping out tomorrow & arriving on Wednesday.
              $680US for shipping.

Flights, Gas and BS would have been around $400US.

We'll see what shows up. This is my 2nd time taking an unseen gamble, and the last time wasn't too bad.

Didn't come with winter package, but I presume I can swap the heated seat components over?

Fingers f**king crossed she is as good as she sounds!
                  Arrives tomorrow supposedly!

Going to pull the fenders until they're bacon, then get 10.5Js on there.

Heated seats is possible to retrofit, usually the easiest route is aftermarket though. You need the seats, wiring and the control buttons.

                    Fingers crossed for you bud!
