Where to get Ohlins suspension rebuilt?

Hey guys would anyone know of a shop in town that would rebuild suspension ohlins suspension?

I am planning on purchasing a used set of Stasis ohlins SL suspension for my RS4 but the shocks will need to be rebuilt.

isn't stasis dead? Would you be better off buying new koni's/bilsteins which have a warranty?

yea i have been reading up on them regarding performance and reliability and although they require a rebuild every 30-40k km. they seem to be well worth it. and even though they are out of business, a few shops in the US still rebuild em.

I have tried contacting a few shops in town so far and no luck so far.

Should have checked with CAW, was there the other day getting some spacers!

Maybe ask 034, they still sell Ohlins stuff for Audis and might be able to point you in the right direction for a NA or even local rebuilder.

Otherwise, I'd go to a Ducatti or Aprilia dealer and ask who they'd send bike struts to for repair.

yea i checked with 034 and they said they dont have any info on canadian dealers but they said they could get it done. I want to keep it local if possible.

I'm sure Ohlins Are great and all however unless you are hardcore autocrossing or racing your car I don't think they are worth the high dollar investment.

100% agreed! however i am getting them for a fraction of what KW/Bilsteins would cost

I am a Ohlins dealer, but for rebuilds they are sent to the manufacturer

Yea i figured so, but since Stasis is out of business, i would have to find another avenue to get them to the manufacturer i suppose

But wouldn't you have to factor in all the associated costs of rebuilding them every 30K and the labour involved with doing so?

true but ive been told that at the most they would cost $200 per corner to rebuild. so thats about $800 + labor every 30-40k km or about 2-3 years. which seems doable considering at the current rate KW V3 (next best option) are about $2500-$3000 CAD.

so if i could purchase these at the price ive been told by the private seller, i would be able to get these rebuilt 2 times and still be under what a new set of KW V3s would cost.

i guess it all boils down to the estimate i get to get them rebuilt and installed (could even install myself to save cost)

That's a lot considering you need to pull them and wait while they're being rebuilt.

Not to get a little off topic but this is one of the reasons I went with Vogtlands. Ten year warranty (used to be lifetime) with no questions asked, they'll ship you a new set. Most other manufacturers, including KW, will want them back to inspect them before the warranty will go into effect. I believe Blair had this issue with his KW's on the GTI.
