'Best' Euro Suv for Daily Driving and towing?

Hey guys, Im doing some prelim searching for a euro suv (Vw/audi preferably) for daily driving and towing. I am looking to get a boat at some point so it would need to be able to tow 5000+ pounds.
Any opinions/suggestions? Obvious choices seem to be Touareg, Q7, just want some other ideas or would like to hear peoples opinions on them.

GL550 hauls ass, if you don't care about the gas mileage. GL350 Bluetec is pretty decent too

2007-2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD
Interior is not the same as a euro, engine + transmission is mercedes. Engine is the same used in their diesel cars and suv's, they use a different transmission though. Dodge uses the 5 speed mercedes throughout their lineup for these years. AWD system is a mechanical electronic differential for both front and rear which works great in the winter.
towing is 7,400 lbs

Oh did I mention they are generally half the price of the euro's

Just looked on Kijiji and wow people are being stupid on what they want for the jeep's right now. Diesel is cheap, typically pushes the price of diesel vehicles up. Diesel price will go up in 3-4 months typically above gas and the price of these typically goes down.

My brother inlaw has the said GL350 Bluetec and he pulls a 21" Super Air Nautique with no problems in the mountains.

My friend had one of those Jeep's, and it was beyond awful. Literally spent 35% of its life at the dealer.

My parents are on their 2nd q7.

Our first one was a 3.6L V6 (i think 270 or 280hp),was super reliable. No problems, just typical maintenance. Towing was okay (we have a 20.5 ft cobalt) , but through the mountains it could be slow at times.

Our current q7, 2015 3.0T (333hp sport). Towing rated at 6600lbs is great on this one, it doesn't really feel sluggish at all through the mountains.

I think the q7 is a great value for the money you are paying, a beast in the winter too.

I'm not sure if the new XC90 can tow 5,000+ lbs or not but it's a hell of a lot better looking than the new Q7, IMO.

The new xc90 is rated to tow 5291 lbs.

Had the jeep for 80,000 km's and nothing to go to the dealer on. Many dealers had no clue what they were doing either which caused some people to get the shaft.

We have a 13 xc90 and it's rated for 5500 lbs . We have a dirt bike trailer and bikes and can tow them fine . Maybe 1500-2000 lbs weight. Deffently worth looking at volvos imo . We compared Audi and Volvos when we were looking and like the Volvo better for the space with the 3rd row up .. That was a big must for us. If we could have got a toureg in 7 seat with at do would have been ideal though.
