  • User car dealer review: Millenium Motors

So the story goes is the wife wanted a new car. I told er to go test drive some used VW's and find one she liked. She finally settled on the new Golf wagens due to the nice fit of size and price point. We both test drove a couple and she settled on one she wanted. She found one at Millenium Motors here in calgary that she liked enough to get a pre purchase inspection on. I was really sick around the time of the start of the negotiations on price so I let her take care of it. One of our neighbors is a retired cop and car salesman, he offered to go with her. Here is where the **** show started. The sales guy was a complete d-bag. Even made the comment to my wife asking her what I gave her permission to spend. The car had been sitting for awhile, could see it by the total lot rot on the rotors (so bad I am going to replace them). Treated her like crap throughout their conversation like she knew nothing about cars and that this one was super rare (ya sure not like we didn't look at others exactly the same).
In the end she got the car she wanted but not close to the price she wanted. We agreed we could live with it. When I went to sign the papers he tried to push the aftermarket warranty. Of course they are mostly a rip off so I declined. He asked a couple more times and even commented that I must feel pretty lucky or something along those lines. After the way he had treated my wife I almost lost it.
Anyhow got the paperwork sorted out and picked up the car... stereo died half hour later... I didn't even bother phoning them after a google search showed that the 2010/11 stereos died all the time. Just went out and bought a nice pioneer and called it a day.

Moral of the story: Steer clear of these guys if you want a sales guy that won't treat you like an idiot.

TLDR: Don't bother with Millenium Motors when shopping for a used car.

Sorry to hear Brent. A quick search, shows that their owner Ed Souraya, sold a knowingly flood damaged (irreperable) Subaru.

No offence however why would you continue to go through with the transaction if the seller was being such a d bag? I would have told him to pound sand and find another one!

Those warranties say you can't even do your own oil changes. I had one for 10 minutes before I noticed this and called and cancelled. I went through another dealer not to far and had an experience similar which has lead me to never want to touch a used car dealer again. It took me 2 months to get my warranty money back from the dealer and he didn't even give me the full amount.

Surprised you still went through with the transaction after the way the sales guy spoke to you and your wife. I'm with Derek - I would have told him to pound sand. Hope you at least stole it.

It also didn't help that she had been looking for a long time and we needed a bigger car for an out of town trip. If it was just be I would have flipped him the bird and walked away.
