  • PlastiDip Alternative..... AutoDip?

I thought i would bring this up for discussion.

I came across this on audizine and a few members on here have been chatting about it as well. Its a new alternative to PlastiDip.

We all know plasti dip is great because its removable/somewhat inexpensive, and comes in a variety of colours. But we also know that plasti dip is Sh*t because its leaves a terrible finish, it fades in the sun, and attracts dirt making it a pain the the a** to clean and keep clean whether it be a set of wheels, a piece of trim or even a full car.

The new alternative to plastidip is VINYL based, not RUBBER based like plastidip. Also, you don't need multiple can's to achieve a "glossy" finish like you do with plasti dip. This stuff looks pretty cool, I'm interested to see where it goes and to see if it kills the plasti-dip craze. It seems to give a much better finish than plastic dip does.

It's pretty expensive @30bucks/can (I'm assuming USD) but the website claims you only need 2 can's to do a set of wheels compared to plastidip where you would need 4 sometimes 5 to complete a set.

Autodip is also available in gallons.

They are clearly using the PlastiDip name to their advantage to try and gain following for the market that has become accustom to that product. Good and bad call i think, you would want to play off their name, but i wouldn't have named it something that close. Naming it that close makes it sound like a bargain brand of plastidip, and you know the guys who like their plastidip, they are all about the name brand high quality items am i right??

Maybe VinylSpray or something would have been a better name.

As far as quality goes, i'm in to see just how it stacks up. I have been against plastidip from the beginning, and unless i'm proven wrong i'm assuming this stuff is nearly the exact same.
