Hi,

We are opening an online anime store and tried out a service called DesignCrowd. Many designers submit work and you get to choose one (only one!) to make your own.

Here are the best designs we liked from our 2 favourite designers.

Our mascot is a Japanese marten (orange/white ferret) and of course the store is called TenBox. It comes from the Japanese words Japanese Marten (hence the mascot!), Heaven and Store. These are the characters you see the designers using.

We are looking for a good name design to go on the website and other branding and also a mascot that we can use in various publications. Whichever mascot we choose will end up being designed in multiple poses and clothing reflecting events (Canada day, Boxing day,...) and seasons (spring, summer, strawberries,...).

We would like to get your opinion by voting on your favourite!

There are 2 parts to what we need, one is the mascot and one is the logo. So let us know which one of each you prefer, they don't need be from the same designer or logo.

Some more information:

My girlfriend and I decided that we wanted to start an Anime retail business.

We started looking into it and found that there wasn't a lot of competition in Vancouver. We figured we could wait forever or just jump in, which what we've done!

It's been interesting so far getting all the Canadian paperwork together but we we officially registered 2 weeks ago and got our local licensing last week.

Things are rapidly moving forward, much faster than anticipated actually. We are currently working on the website design, marketing strategies and import/export strategy.

One of the most crucial part was getting a name we liked, it probably took us a month of just thinking about it, testing names, words, combining things, writing down our favourties and only to restart from scratch when nothing stuck.

The second is coming up with a design for a mascot! Which is where you guys are helping us a lot.

We've already made some solid connections with distributors and are looking at more as we look to source the best prices to pass onto the customers.

We are aiming pretty high, we want to be Western Canada leader in Anime figures immediately, if things go well. We are also going to be selling to people internationally depending on demand.

We are starting as online only for now as we want to concentrate on products and not managing a retail space. A lot of what we are going to sell are going to be Anime figures but we will also have Pop figures, Game figures, Superhero figures and DIY kits. Other items will include small things such as keychains, cellphone charms, wall scrolls, posters, stickers, art books, and other small items which are linked to the series we will carry.

Ideally it will be our full time jobs but for that to happen we need to get a large enough volume of sales first, so for now we will both keep working at our companies and do this on the side.

Very cool (I will still PM you) but don't get me started on Pop figures, I have a big love/hate with them!! Are you opening a physical store or will it be online?

For now it will be online only, if things go well a physical store will be in the future.
