  • help me pick a new car!

Hello, so I've recently decided I hate my car and I'm looking for a new one. I took the Jetta out bombing some dirt back roads and realized how much I want boost and if possible AWD, I'm looking for something in the price range of how much I sell my car for so $4000-$5000 and with a couple bucks extra for parts and upgrades. if you have any recommendations let me know. I'm looking at buying a WRX, but I also wanna keep it Euro. so let me know thanks!

Going to be tough to find a decent turbo AWD car for that money.

Could prob get a shitty JDM or maybe 2002-2003 WRX for that.

Only euro you're gonna find for that price is a high mileage b5 or b6 A4. But it fits your catagory......Euro, AWD, Turbo. I'm sure Kijiji has lots for sale, just leave some money aside for fixing it when it breaks.

            Get RWD. AWD is overrated.

For 5 grand, i would stick with the car you have, or switch to a 1.8 mk4. Save up for a few years and then pick up something newer.

This is about the best you're gonna get within that price range. Just be wary about the owner, the car's condition, the maintenance etc. Just do your homework on these cars and be prepared to do some work to clean it up (and mod it!). Yes it's an old car and yes it'll need maintenance. But in the B5's favour, I own one and love it. That being said, if I wasn't a full time student, I'd have a bagged B7 A4 avant by now

On the other hand, the VR6 is loads of fun and I guarantee you'll miss the linear power and wookie noises if you go boost!

Want to save money? Want reliability? Want something you will never buy "nice" parts for?

Forget AWD, buy a cheap 2004 Honda Civic like I did. I paid a few thousand 2 years ago, and it has been a constant companion.

M5 threw a center bearing - I jumped into the Civic after it sitting for 2 months, and drove it to work.
When the Audi is being temperamental - The Civic is 100% dependable.
