  • R/C car or truck

I've been out of R/C for 15 years. Where should I go in Calgary? I thought pms hobby craft was good, but they didn't have much for cars, just tons of parts. Gas or lipo? Buggy, truck or monster? 1/10 scale? I'm all over the place and need suggestions and opinions.

    Thanks!

I would say truck something like a slash ultimate, I've had rock crawlers, drift cars, rally cars, and a slash ultimate. Bought the slash at the very end, regret that I didn't buy it earlier. Lipo 2s, 3s just keeps blowing esc. eBay is your friend

lipo is the way to go these days. Nitro is so much hassle with maintaining them and buying fuel. If I were to buy one now it would probably be an E-MAXX or something similar

      Try Model Land.

Last gas truck I had was a t max, it was fun for a bit but then it breaks. And breaks. I'd go electric now, I have a little gti electric not sure on brand maybe tamiya. It was cool because you get to build it all.

I have an old RC18T that I bought from someone on here. Most of it is new by now, but I'm looking to get a new cheap radio for it. PM Hobby always seems to be out of stock on stuff. I usually have better luck at Model Land.

Try an Axial Yeti. You can get it in a kit or RTR. I got mine from Modelland.

                  Re: R/C car or truck

That's not bad but can probably find better, it looks well used. If you could get it for a good price might be worth it.

I have a 1/10 brushless E-revo which is just nuts, way more fun than a nitro truck (which I had once upon a time).

The big monster trucks are fun but they are big, stuff is expensive and batteries don't last all that long. a good set of batteries will set you back 200-300 for example.

Find a 1/16 brushless E-revo, they aren't crazy big so you can still bash around the yard/street and everything is cheaper. they handle well, and AWD. Also, my revo is heavy, it will shatter an ankle if you lose control and run in to someone.

Crawlers and trail trucks are fun also, they aren't super fast but are great if you like to create a scale look and feel.

I won't list them all but I have about a dozen RC's of all different types, that's just what I have now, I've sold just as many.
