Looking for a new car

hey guys im new to the fourm, and im not too sure what car to get i know that I am going to be looking at a Volkswagen for sure and it has to be manual im debating about getting either a jetta or a golf which one should i get?

Comes down to personal preference in the end in my opinion...I personally like the Golf over the Jetta in the current iteration.

I like both cars, both of them have their cons. I'm leaning towards a diesel jetta around 2005ish

Having both Jetta and multiple golfs both have their pros but since both have the same interior specs it comes down to the trunk.
Golf: taller boot as in you can fit things like a BBQ, few mountain bikes, coffee table etc.
Jetta: has the length so things like skis/snowboards fit nicer with the seat down, longer 2x4s etc, I could fit more luggage bags in the Jetta.

They handle similar and have similar fuel economy. Like rod said though it'll come down to personal preference...golf has that hot hatch look while Jetta has the grown up sedan look. I'd say go for a 2 door golf
