  • Immobilizer Question MK4

Hey guys quick question here, if I immo delete the ecu do I still have immobilizer on my mk4? Because the cluster and keys still have immobilizer right? Or do the cluster and keys have to go through the ecu?

    Re: Immobilizer Question MK4

The cluster and key ring have to send matching codes to the ECU. If the ECU is defeated, your key transponder doesn't need to work to start the car, i believe it recognizes that the transponder is always approved

Cool thanks, I think I'll just swap the ecu cluster and all the locks to the new car then

        Re: Immobilizer Question MK4

I think if the ecu immo is defeated you can just swap it in and keep the original cluster. That's how it works on an A4 at least
