  • Koilhaus Suspension from Concept 1.... Thoughts?

Was wondering if any one has used the Koilhaus coilovers that Concept 1 sells? I did some searching on them and came up with nothing really. I talked to the guys at Concept and they said they are a awesome setup and better then the other entry level coils. I have a set of mint FK Koni Sport Coilovers but I am on my second set of front inserts since owning them over the years and not really feeling up to spending the cash on another set of front inserts only to last 1 year.

Does anyone know if these Koilhaus are the same as the JOM or Raceland on the market?

Anyone know of any leads on a used set or ?

Raceland is an eBay brand I believe. I bought race land downpipes on my previous 135i, and they fitment was SOO off( 10 inches off) on one, and perfect on the other side. Cheap Crap from my experience

Raceland isn't an eBay brand, I've bought coilovers from them...and they do sell a number of products.

Ken walked me through the Koilhaus setup, and they look really good. He did a lot of work to get a quality setup at a good cost, and the results are impressive. I know one of his staff members ran a set, but haven't heard many reviews. I would totally run them.

if they are the same as the old "concept1" coilovers they had, i believe they were pretty much a fk streetline, just re- labelled or something like that.

I think the old concept 1 coilovers are rebranded solowerks, which lasted me only 1 year lolol

Well I found a temporary setup to get me by my current suspension has two broken springs. I have decided that I don't want to go with entry level coilivers as I want a no bull warranty. My FK's have a full lif time warranty but I got denied due to the fact that I ran them in the lowest setting. Apparently they were not designed to do that and it leads to blow out.

The setup that I am considering getting are either the Bilstein or Kw v2'S but waiting to get some extra money first

I really like my concept 1 coilovers, they are very comfy with the helper springs. They have lasted me two years so far and have been problem free. But I also don't drive like a 16 year old.

I am sure they are very comparable to the koilhaus.

If the FK's weren't designed to run on the lowest setting then they shouldn't give people the option - I'd keep trying to get them warrantied and file a complaint if they won't budge.

I went with Bilstein pss's this time around - a lifetime warranty from a legit company is worth the extra few bucks IMO.

edit: changed pss9 to pss... forgot what I was running there for a min

Well here is my FK story.... Originally I bought my FK Koni coilovers from a VW dealer who distributed FK. Long story short after 9 month's of use I ran into leaking problems on the front struts I went back to where I bought them from to get warranty taken care of. I was them informed that they dropped that product line and will no longer be dealing with them. From what I heard they had a falling out and FK dropped them. I fought with the dealer for a month and they left height and dry!!! A complaint was sent to VW Canada and they said because that dealership wasn't authorized to sell aftermarket parts at that dealer that I didn't have a leg to stand on plus they will be getting in trouble for doing so.

My next step was to contact FK direct, they said that they will take them in for warranty and if they felt it was a manufacture defect they will replace it. After 1.5 month's with no coilovers and have to pay massive freight to ship them to FK they said they will not warranty it because it was due to abuse from being to low. I argued with them for a few weeks then had them send it back. After that I then purchased a set of Koji 8610 inserts that fit into the FK coilovers. About a year later... same problem strut blew out again!!!

I am not leaning towards Brillstein coilovers or H&R once the funds allow me to do a upgrade.

Ive had the shitty FK streetlines (?) (the yellow ones) for over 3 years now, no complaints here, although pricier coilovers do ride much... much better.
That being said, i will be upgrading to either H&R or KWs next time round.
