    Re: Wireless Remote Access Thermometer?

For something super cheap, you could leave a computer running that you could remotely access (using free software). Then, use one of the spare temperature sensor connections on your motherboard (eg. for monitoring case temperature) and extend the wires out into the room somewhere. Use some software to display that temperature. Depending on the software, you might even be able to get an email alert.

Obviously not completely simple, but it could be 100% free depending on how much computer stuff you have around.

Here's your solution Colin. And having a weather station where you live would be fun in the summer. Acurite is also one my storm chasing team's loyal sponsors! The app for a any smart phone works really well.

Thanks everyone I think I'm going to go with George's option. Just need to track it down out now doesn't look like Costco carries it anymore. Nest/ other ones I've researched dont have very good reviews for the type of heating we have in our house (in floor) as it is slow to react to temperature changed.
