    Well 8000 should be what it takes at maximum to get the car running, including 2000 of ecu and wiring

      8k actually doesn't sound far off? I can easily imagine a garage charging 2k for the engine install with wiring, and the car with engine itself costing 4k-6k.
      Though I think you may find that you can get your engine from California shipped to the border for about the same price as the car, may make your life easier?
