I've had nothing but hassles dealing with this company and I'm currently out $904.56 so just a heads up for any fellow audi owners looking to deal with these scum bags.
Summery is I ordered carbon fiber mirror caps from them back in June, was told I would have them in 10 business days...for three plus months I was fed ever excuse in the book...I asked for a refund, was told there would be a restocking fee, refused to pay one. Was told refund was coming, never got one. Called my bank and did a chargeback, received my money back and thought that was it.
Today I got a note from my bank saying Oemplus has supplied new evidence that they fullfilled the order and that my next statement will reflect the original charge.
That is a 100% lie, I never got the caps! Bank asked me to document all my conversations with them and forward all emails. I had to write this up so I thought I would post it here also to alert you guys of this scum bag company...
I have to do this for my bank so I might as well document it all here as well so that other members don't have to go through this process.
I ordered a set of carbon fiber mirror caps from OEMPLUS back on June 30/2014 through Joseph Tu for $825US. I phoned my order in and spoke with him directly. I asked during this call what the time frame was and I was told 10 business days.
June 30/2014 5pm Joe fired off an email to me thanking me for the order and attaching my receipt. He told me he would be in touch as soon as they arrived.
July 10 /2014. I wrote Joe to see how they were coming along and to inform him that he had my condo unit number and street address as one big number on my invoice and asked him to correct it so it wouldn't affect shipping.
July 11/2014. Joe respond saying that the caps are in production still, and that they should be on there way soon from Germany, and that they are made to order. He also let me know that he noted the correction to my address and made the change to the order sheet. He thanked me for pointing it out.
July 18/2014. I asked Joe for an update
July 21/2014. Joe responded that he was expecting them towards the end of the week. As soon as they arrived he would verify their condition and then send them out.
July 24/2014. I asked for news from Joe.
July 25/2014. Joe apologized for the delay, with the latest news being that they would arrive in next week. He also told me that the product will be worth the wait.
Aug 01/2014. I wrote Joe and asked if the caps had come this week?
Aug 01/2014. Joe responded that they didn't. He again apologized. He told me he would check in with the supplier to see if they have an update on why it's taking so long. He then told me he feels bad personally, for not delivering on what he said when I originally ordered. He signed off by saying that as soon as he had news he would provide an update.
Aug 05?/2014. I called and spoke to I let him know I had an appointment with my dealership to swap the caps Aug 12 ( I made the appointment a week after ordering thinking that would be plenty of time ...6 weeks for me to have them in hand). He told me that the caps where not in yet. He also let me know then that it's a bit of a cluster **** in regards to contacting their supplier as they talk to someone, who then communicates to the supplier. He has no direct contact with the supplier...
Aug 08/2014 I wrote Joe and asked if he heard from the guy that knows the guy that's making the caps ( I'm getting annoyed now)
Aug 11/2014 I cancel my install appointment with my dealership and let them know I'll rebook.
Aug 13/2014. Joe responds that there was a major mishap between the supplier and their depot in Germany. He stated "we have quite a few orders of this type due to us". But the latest update is that the caps are expected friday! (Aug15th)
Aug 13/2014 I wrote Joe back to get clarification on the "orders of this type" line. I just want to know what's going on?
Aug 14/2014 Joe wrote back to tell me that they have quite a few orders with this manufacturer that are pending delivery as in five figure amounts. That they had recently moved their facility and upgraded space so that was possibly the reason for the added time.
Aug 20th/2014 I phoned Joe and left a voicemail.
Aug 21/2014 Joe wrote me. He told me there was an issue with customs and that the order was returned to Germany. This is why it has taken so long. They supplier has express shipped the caps to him and it will be here Monday (August 25) "with no issues"
He then offered me 15% off my next order with Oemplus for a future purchase for the delay and frustration.
Aug 22/2014 I called Joe to say that I would wait untill Monday but I was sick of being strung along. I asked him to call me back but never heard from him.
Aug 27/2014 I wrote Joe to ask what the new issue was since I hadn't received notice of the shipment or a return call from him.
Aug 27/2014 Joe responded by email that there was no new issue. Just waiting for the shipment to arrive. He doesn't have a sound reason for why it's taking so long this time. He's still investigating with the manufacturer. He also stated that if something unfavourable did occur that he was prepared to refund my order in full.
Sep 02/2014 I wrote Joe for an update.
Sep 02/2014 I received a note from joes email account from Nick Barnes. He told me Joe is no longer employed with Oemplus. He wrote that he just got off the phone with Germany and that the order had arrived damaged and that they were now remaking everything and that they would ship out Friday (sep 05) . He then offered me a discount on my next order.
Sep 02/2014. I called to talk to Nick. So many red flags going off at this point. During this conversation I let him know that the 15% offer on a future purchase was insulting...how would I ever trust this company again. I told nick I wanted a refund. He then offered me $150 off of the mirror caps today, and promised me that they were going to be here Friday and that he would overnight them to me and I would have them Tuesday (sep 09) at the latest. I told nick I would think it over tonight and let him know tomorrow what I wanted to do.
Sep 03/2014. I wrote Nick and accepted the $150 discount. I told him I would wait a few more weeks for the caps to arrive (knowing canadapost) I asked him to process the partial refund immediately and then said if I didn't have the caps in hand in the next 21 days I would expect the other $675 to be refunded in full.
Sep 03/2014 Nick wrote me that he credited my PayPal account $150 ( I never paid him through PayPal) and that he understood the terms...I would be refunded the full amount if he didn't make that time frame.
Sept 10/2014 I wrote Nick to see if they had arrived on his end ?
Sep 11/2014 Nick wrote me saying he should have a packing list shortly and that he'll have the mirrors in the next couple of days.
Sep 17/2014 I wrote Nick for an update.
Sep 18/2014 Nick wrote me that they have a new supplier who is going to make the mirror caps. He should have them next week.
Sep 18/2014 I wrote Nick and asked for a refund.
Sept 18/2014 I phoned Nick. By the end of that conversation he convinced me to order a set of oem brushed aluminum caps for my car instead of the carbon ones. He told me he would give me a break on the price and get them to me in two weeks for the $675 he had of mine.
Sep 19 /2014 I wrote Nick and told him to order the brushed caps. I would wait the two weeks.
Sep 19/2014 Nick wrote me letting me know that he placed the order.
Sep 29/2014 I wrote Nick for an update.
Sep 30/2014 Nick responded that they would be here next week.
Oct 05 /2014 I called Oemplus. No answer.
Oct 07/2014 I wrote Nick asking for my money back in full. I've waited far too long and can see where this is going again.
Oct 07/2014 Nick wrote me that he was at a car show and that the caps were arriving at the end of the week. No reference was made to my request for a refund.
Oct 07 /2014 Nick wrote me back telling me he can't cancel the caps without paying a restocking fee.
Oct 07/2014 I called Nick. I addressed him trying to charge me a restocking fee.
I let him know that I have zero confidence in his company and that I've heard every excuse over the past 3.5 months, and now I'm going through it again.
I said I thought it was insane if he thought I was going to pay a restocking fee after what I had been through the past 3 months. I asked him to then pay me interest on my $825 that he has had for the past 3.5 months when originally I was told 10 business days.
He was extremely rude and very very hostile, telling me he has done more then what's fair. He also stated that he has been completely upfront and honest throughout.
I responded that I had no idea what the truth was...in customs...returned...company moving...items damaged...new supplier ect ect. I had heard every excuse and I have been more the accommodating as I really wanted the mirror caps.
I was over it and just wanted my refund in full 100% no restock no fees, simply refund me.
5 mins of silence later Nick agreed. I asked him how soon it was going to be processed. He told me Thursday October 09. I told him I wanted it done right now, he told me his accountant wasn't around until Thursday and that's when it would be processed.
After another heated conversation I agreed to wait until Thursday October 09
Oct 09/2014 no refund processed to either my credit card nor my PayPal account ...I called Oemplus, no answer...so wrote Nick to see what was going on. I asked him to call me and let me know what was up.
Oct 10/2014 Nick wrote me...told me his accountant ran it, funds were being transferred and is being processed and that it will happen next week.
Oct 13/2014 I filed a dispute with my bank for the credit card charge
Oct 17/2014 I received my funds back through the credit card dispute process.
I thought it was over.
Oct 24/2014 I was notified that I was being charged again, new evidence that the caps were shipped to me. I phoned into my bank and was told to write a letter detailing the events of the past 5 months. I have also forwarded them every email from Joe and Nick. I guess this is part of the process.
In summery:
Oemplus has not delivered my mirror caps to me. They have strung me along for months with ever excuse they could come up with and the constant promise of next week.
I feel stupid that I let it go on as long as I did, but I really did want the caps.

If your looking to spend your money I would highly recommend you use another company. Oemplus has really tried to screw me over here.
