Well here is the first offical pics of the new BMW 1 series 5 door hatch. Not sure if it will actually be available here looks to go on sale in Europe in the fall. Engine choices are:

120i 110 kW / 150 bhp at 6200 rpm; 200 Nm at 3600 rpm; cubic capacity 2.0 litres; 0-62 in 8.7 s; top speed 217 km/h (135 mph); fuel consumption 7.4 ltr/100km

118d 90 kW / 122 bhp at 4000 rpm; 280 Nm at 2000 rpm; cubic capacity 2.0 litres 0-62 in 10.0 s; top speed 201 km/h (125 mph); fuel consumption 5.6 ltr/100km

120d 120 kW / 163 bhp at 4000 rpm; 340 Nm at 2000 rpm; cubic capacity 2.0 litres; 0-62 in 7.9 s; top speed 220 km/h (137mph); fuel consumption 5.7 ltr/100km

It's about time. They've been talking about this thing for about 5 years already. Anyhow, all I can say is that Bangle has totally destroyed BMW. The e30 and e36 were the best bimmers, and the e46 is decent. But the new 5series and new 7series look horrible. In my opinion this new one series looks like a mini X3. Horrible. The interior is nice, as with most BMW's, but the body styling is awful.

Straight six is a nice powerplant for sure.... but I love the bimmer tranny more than anything else.

Yea, I was kinda thinkin that too. Honestly I don't think I like it, I've been interested in it for a while, I thought it would be something to consider in buying a new car but I think it would have been better if they would've modeled it after the previouse Gen. I don't know I just don't really like it, and it will probably take another year or more before it even get's here in any kind of cool model. I agree though, the inline six would be cool in it!!

On another note, aparently they've publicly declared the A3 is coming to Canada.....in four door only at this time
