      Re: Warning wide load...

Its not technically legal , mudflaps are required but otherwise lifting a truck is no different then lowering a car. As long as the headlights are aimed propperly there is nothing wrong with a lifted truck

I'dd say he is over width. Standard dually is pretty close as is.

Bumpers are required to be at a certain height range I believe otherwise they are more weapons than safety features and I am not sure how many lifted trucks have properly aimed headlights. I really do like living in a place where I hardly ever see something like that, just not a fan.

The picture really doesn't do it justice, the truck is dual cab with extended bed, on the front he has semi wheels.

                  Re: Warning wide load...

I believe it is the center of headlight that needs to be between a certain height (~21" or so to 1.4m or so, forget the actual heights) unless it is a stock vehicle that has no modifications.
As for width, the wheel/tire cannot stick out more than 1" or 1.5" past the fenders, in this case he has modified the fenders to make it technically legal i guess. I don't see this being any wider than a Hummer H1 to be honest but its hard to tell for sure.

2.6m is max width (99% sure..). Standard F450 width is 2.44m With those extra fender flares he's got, he could add 8cm on each side, legally. That is my understanding at least... They look bigger than 8cm.

**actually, I think 2.6m is max load. The track width may only be 2.5m. In which case, he is defiantly too wide.

It reads (in Alberta) as "Overall Width" of 2.6m.

                          Re: Warning wide load...

I have a 2005 dodge dually that I use for work, only thing I did was put a new muffler (Old one rusted out, cheaper to get a mild upgrade then stock) and air bags for the loads, everything else is stock.

What he has up in that picture is just stupid, making yourself as wide as he is just makes his life more complicated that's it. Truck looks like it has never done any work, he was smarter going SRW if he wanted to do what he did. You can't park that thing in a normal spot, drive through's are out of the question, and trying to squeeze into turn lanes will never happen. Downtown that thing sucks as well, not practical in anyway, really not worth it unless you wanker is really that small....

Man that is nuts, like the lifted 650's those can't be legal.

I remember when I was looking into my beetle since it was pre 65 or somewhere in there maybe it was 67 there were no bumper regulations so could rock whatever height etc without issue.

I'd have to look it up, but there is a range of height bumpers are suppose to be within, too high or too low and its illegal.
